We have a lot of deer in the neighborhood. I was out walking near dusk and managed to grab a few photos. 105mm lens was helpful for this! Nikon FE2, 105mm f2.5 lens, Ilford FP4 #photography
Milo! (One of our California rabbits) Nikon FE2. 105mm f2.5 lens and Ilford FP4.
I’ve been using the Weber Smokey Mountain smoker quite a bit, so I decided to also get a Weber Kettle (22” model). I had to go with the verde color model!
Taking some pictures with the 105mm f2.5 lens today. Using Ilford FP4. I just remembered that I also need to mix up a new batch of D76! #photography
I wasn’t really happy with the stock door on the WSM. It was really the only thing I wanted to upgrade. Everything else was great. Very thin metal and the latch wasn’t great. Found an awesome aftermarket upgrade from Cajun Bandit!
Played with La Murga today at the home opener for the Austin Rise Women’s team. They are in the WPSL, and this is their first season having Parmer as their home field. This is their 4th season, and previously their home field was at House Park.
Playing Everdell tonight. We had a lot of fun! It’s a really good worker placement game/tableau builder.
Taking part in the memorial and protest at an Austin FC game is something that I will never forget. We played “Over the Rainbow” and I will never hear that song again without thinking of those kids.
Tiny olive trees! I’m going to try to grow a couple of Arbequina olive trees. 1-2’ trees are really tiny, but I moved them to terracotta pots and we’ll see how they do.
Sunday matinee of the Mandolorian and Grogu. I thought it was a pretty fun movie! I was definitely glad to catch it in the theater and have a good sound system.
Pretty happy with how the bread turned out. The crust was really good. I’m happy the new starter is working well!
I had to make a new sourdough starter, and I made the first loaf of bread with the new starter. It looks like it came out okay!
Fermenting habaneros and a few jalapeños with some garlic and carrots to make a hot sauce. First time trying the Masontops versus an old school fermentation lock, so interested to see how it turns out. #fermentation
Picked up a Nikon FE2 with a 50mm/f1.8 lens on the used market. Camera body was pretty dirty, but I got it mostly cleaned up. Shooting a test roll of Ilford FP4 B&W film to check that it’s working properly. #photography
Q2 stadium at sunset. This is during banner hanging Saturday night ahead of a Sunday afternoon Austin FC game.
Austin FC versus Houston Dynamo this weekend. Really awesome that Austin came away with a 2-0 win! Photo credit: Rudy Rocha
A few pictures from HONK!TX 2026! This is a yearly festival of community street bands, and La Murga de Austin has participated for the last 5 years. Pictured are La Murga de Austin (the drum line), Dead Music Capital Band, Minor Mishap Marching Band, and Emperor Norton's Stationary Marching Band.
Tuba and sousaphone! Miraphone 186 from around 1965 in front of my roughly 1975 built King 2350 sousaphone! The tuba arrived this week, and I’m excited to start playing it. #tuba #sousaphone

Took my new-to-me Pentax PC35AF-M point and shoot camera out to the Austin FC game this weekend get some shots. Used Kodak Tri-X 400 and developed it at home with Kodak D-76. Enjoyed using it, though I need to make more use of the +1.5EV button on top. #photography #blackandwhite
Pregame at the Austin FC vs DC United game on March 1st at Q2 stadium. I've started brining the Yamaha bass trombone to games, and it's fun to play (was playing a Getzen trigger tenor before).
Mosaic next to McKalla station by Q2 Stadium in Austin, TX. Canon Sure Shot Supreme with Cinestill 400D
Picked up another point and shoot that I’ve been thinking about getting for a while. It’s a Pentax PC35AF-M. It is built like a tank! 35mm/f2.8 lens which is pretty nice. Also uses AA batteries so that makes things easier. I loaded it with Kodak Tri-X 400 so that I can test it. #photography
