JEERS ... to Risch.

First he grilled Trump’s pick to run the Bureau of Land Management, former Congressman Steve Pearce, R-N.M., about not disposing of public lands — a defining feature of Pearce’s prior public service.

Then he delivered the deciding vote in the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee to send Pearce’s nomination to the Senate floor.

When it came time to cast a final vote on Pearce’s nomination Monday, Risch was a no-show. That’s not because he was back in Idaho. As the Idaho Statesman noted, Risch — along with Congressmen Russ Fulcher and Mike Simpson — were too busy in Washington, D.C., to come home Tuesday and personally thank Idaho voters for their victories in the GOP primary election.

But last Friday, Risch voted affirmatively on a procedural motion to move Pearce’s nomination forward.

Could it be the senator is trying to have it both ways? Perhaps he can explain. — M.T.

Well, I am relieved. I can wash my hands of this and say I tried for my last time. I truly am relieved. I don’t need this in my life anymore. My family doesn’t need it in their lives anymore. I won two legislative elections and lost two. I don’t think people wanted to hear that I am done running for office at our gathering tonight. However, I will always fight for liberty in one way or another. Always. I did receive 50% of the vote in my home county. I can live with that. Bear Lake turned on me after supporting me for 3 elections. That one does hurt. I don’t know why I deserved that, Bear Lake. I always fought for you when I was in office. Thank you to those of you who voted for me in Bear Lake. Thank you for supporting me in the 2 elections that I lost, Bannock County (Lava, Inkom, McCammon, Arimo).

I will continue our mission with East Idaho Patriots. I must say that I’m extremely let down by many of our neighbors in East Idaho. So many of our neighbors voted in fake Republicans. We are well on our way to being a duplicate of Colorado because of the apathy of so many that voted for these fake Republicans. I know that my opponent Veile and Mickelsen support pro-choice. Disgusting. This isn’t sour grapes, this is the truth. This is the absolute truth. This election proved big money and sleazy tactics work.
I also lost my precinct committee officer race by 4 votes. Well, you beat me for the first time Loertschers! Congrats!
Don’t worry, when we have C0<1d Part 2, whatever that might consist of….I will be there on the front lines. I promise you.

Chad Christensen: "The NRA always endorses the incumbent, if the grades are the same. However, my opponent has one legislative session under his belt. I have four! I have 4 years of proving myself as one of the most passionate 2nd Amendment legislators in Idaho. My opponent just had a milk toast session regarding firearms. Wow, congratulations….you’re amazing. 😂 What pro-firearm bills has he carried or co-sponsored? ZERO! I received the NRA endorsement in 2020 and 2022 because I was the incumbent.
I co-sponsored constitutional carry several years while in office. I was the author and sponsor of the SCHOOL CARRY bill and I have no doubt in my mind that my opponent would oppose that bill. He loves the industrial school machine. They are against carrying guns in schools; therefore, I am confident he does as well. I pushed to get real Stand Your Ground or Castle Doctrine in Idaho. I stood against public venues denying your God-given right to carry a firearm.
My “A” rating below is based on real legislative experience. When someone receives an “AQ” that means it is an ‘A’ solely based on the questionnaire."
