Lover of all things tech, design and coding! Designing/creating apps/robots with Rust/JS! Recently released Spux for Leptos! Building MonitorBolt.com in 2026! Blog YouTube
So the local 3d printing service I contracted finally delivered the chassis I designed for my robot today! Let's see how this goes 😂
I recently got into the world of robotics about 9 months back but this is creepy to me 😂
Commitment issues? What's that? I just got a new digital caliper just to go all in on the 3D design and getting it accurate to the best of my ability 😂
Less than 30 minutes into Onshape (1st time user) and I already got the basic shape of my chassis done. Just need to cater for a few more holes for charging the robot's battery, the power switch and maybe the other ports on the Raspberry Pi. Onshape is pretty easy to get into! #robotics
New gear arrived! Hopefully this will help me push the production value of my future videos up 😂
Just pulled the trigger! Decided to do it when I realized that I will be running more LLMs locally in the near future than I expected. Should also help a lot with that Rust compilation speed 😂
Finally found time to try this again and managed to get the readings coming out consistently! But they look weird 😂 #rustlang
Ok I'm still figuring out things here but for some reason the readings only came out in the 1st loop 😂 #rustlang
I'm about to write a driver to get the data and readings out from this IMU using only Rust. Wish me luck 😂 #rustlang
Did I ever mention that I managed to make the motors spin using #rustlang ? 😆 p.s: ignore the messy table
Ahahahah I know right! You mean the penguin? It's super silent lol Here's the difference between the original switches vs the penguin ones that I have just gotten!
Still figuring out how to make this motor spin using #rustlang but for now, it's using the default Arduino IDE language 😂
The things I'll do for my baby boy: Bought new silent switches so as to not disturb him during his sleep 😂
Trying out this new coffee beans that my wife got for me. Hope she'll be proud of the #rustlang code that I write from it 😂
New toy! Guess what this is 😂 Now I wonder if I can use Rust for this lol
I just got this delivered! Should help for what I plan to build and for future safety reasons 😂
The motors and wheels have arrived! Let's see what we can do with them 😂
The goods have arrived! Can't wait to do all sorts of things to it if you know what I mean 😉
So this might be overkill but I just made a purchase for the Raspberry Pi 5 with 16gb ram for myself as a birthday gift to myself 😂 Never owned one but I'm excited and can't wait for when it arrives! p.s ignore the price lol I kinda got it for free using some redeemed points 😉
Did you know that you can travel to the past with Rust / #rustlang ? Simply use the chrono crate like so:
Did you know that in Rust (#rustlang) , you can easily have custom build profiles for your binary with Cargo? For example, if you want your application binary to be optimized for size, you can do this instead:
Personally, as a software engineer, I have a dark side. While I'm in the midst of building something, I can randomly get new ideas that I want to build right away. And trust me when I say that they are tempting as hell. Got to resist their seduction. Oh boi 😂
