I'm still in the process of finding my own black and white style and cutting down the tools to bare minimum, this one for example was done using fingers to smudge. Which was a bad idea, the working surface is very small.

Eventually, we come to the reality of being so alone in this world, we came into world alone, and will leave alone too. Nature gives us the ability to connect to another soul or other souls. Through this complex connection, we have a place to express things in our mind, be vulnerable, sleep tight.

Of course, having a soulmate is such a luxury, many people will never get there.

I recently got my hand on charcoal powder/toner thing, and it’s very black. In combination with a sponge, I made a very black background and use the eraser to start carving the figure out of it.
