Ours looked like this in the spring and early summer but here in East Anglia, UK, we've had hardly any rain for three months (1mm this morning) and our lovely wildflowers are scorched stalks and a fire risk.
They have it wrong: it is the federal government that needs to be imposing stricter tailpipe emissions.

When you see an Essex reservoir as full as this it makes you wonder why next door Kent has had to impose an “immediate hosepipe ban”.
It turns out that the big red Brexit bus is still on the road ... only now it is blue. The irony is that the vehicle was made in Germany.
People need choice in how they travel. If they are not catered for you get cyclists on footways. In the UK we have the Boateng Principle, which in effect lets you ride on footways providing a) you are doing so to avoid a busy road or junction, and b) you ride with consideration.
