I'm giving a reading this Friday with some other Athens writers. Come see us at Rec Room Books at 6:30!
Mouse is on his heated sleeping pad, sound asleep. I hope to feel this way, too, later tonight.
Mouse looking down at me from his cat tree between trying—literally—to pull framed pictures off of the walls last night.
Mouse got a new kitty tunnel for Christmas, and I’m starting to think it might be a portal to another dimension.
Heaven, for me, just might involve a cold winter night outside, a cozy room with an old rug, me reading a good book, and my cat lying warmly across my feet.
An old friend of mine just sent me this, saying that it made him think of me.
I love how when I board my cat at Kitty City, they address him by his full government name.
I walked on the beach today, just after a storm had blown off toward the west.
Mouse, hiding in the kitchen from a severe summer thunderstorm outside. I keep telling him that everything will be okay, but also that it’s okay to hide sometimes from things that really frighten you.
Just a friendly reminder that this is the beast I get to live with.
I was inside a hockey arena all day for a commencement ceremony, and I FOUND THE ZAMBONIS!!!
Mouse and I watched ‘Flow’ earlier today, and we both loved it! For the first 30 minutes or so, anyway. Then he fell asleep next to me in the chair while I watched the rest. (It is really good to the end.)
I‘ll wear this tomorrow just as I do every year, but I felt that it was especially important to showcase this time the US history and this year of, you know, welcoming immigrants the likes of my own ancestors. If this counts as protest against the current US government, so much the prouder to me.
The Texas Reporter is posting everything it knows about the Gulf of Mexico right now, and I am here for all of it.
