Instead of sitting outside watching paint dry (on the granddaughters toy box), I used my time wisely to see this outstanding book by @spitfirefilly.bsky.social off the tbr pile. Quite possibly, one of the best books written on the Battle of Britain era.
My extremely battered copy lives on one of the bookshelves next to a spin-off.

Bit of a stoll along the Ridgeway with the lad this morning. No WW2 concrete to be found, but did find something from a bit earlier!

The last time I was up there, I noticed these around the edge of the hillfort. Think they may be the tanks for the fire sites.

A visit to the former RAF Down Ampney looking for WW2 concrete. The airfield was pivotal in many British airborne operations and the returning of wounded back from the war in Europe during 1944-45. The airfield has returned to agricultural use once more, and there are little reminders of its past.
