Someone in my relatively close family orbit is prone to posting a lot of stupid on socials: things like ‘gravity isn’t real’ and there’s no war happening with Iran. Today’s doozy is that ‘space’ is a hoax. Truly, they walk among us.
My boy Dillon aced it at his annual check up / booster with the vet today. As a ‘giant’ XL dug, ageing can come quick and have challenges but he was told he - has excellent teeth - has kept his (healthy) weight steady, and - that he looks about three years younger than he is (he’s 9 and-a-half)
It’s a bit like women opting to ‘choose the bear’, really, isn’t it? Giles Coren calling for dogs to be banned and offering himself as a friend for anyone who thinks they need a dog:
This is my handsome lad Dillon. He’s been back with me since 2023. Abandoned as very tiny pupper with his litter in Bucharest in midwinter. Saved by Barking Mad Dog Rescue. Came to UK 2016. THREE failed adoptions, two stints in kennels, & fostered with me for 8mths. He is 41kg of very good boy.

Growing up in NE Fife I understood that my dad’s family were all teuchters from the north, & that my grandparents moved down to FIfe in later life. Turns out that my granny had ancestors from here - today I found my great great great great grandparents’ grave in Cupar: where I went to high school.
