#WorldSnakeDay #Adder secretive misunderstood #Reptile. Female gives birth to live young, their red eyes and zig-zags body pattern identifies them as adders. Britains only venomous #snake. I’ve been very lucky to have seen them in several locations 🏴 They are in decline 😢

6 years ago! This was my old garden - NationalMeadowsDay - so much wildlife visited, foraged, sheltered, bred + there’s a wee (small) pond in there too! New garden coming along nicely.

Hairy caterpillar or Woolly bear as I know them! Garden Tiger #moth caterpillar strolling over dead leaves towards fresh vegetation. Great size and condition. 🖤🧡🤍 #insect #caterpillar
**Cute insect alert** This chunky #sawfly landed on my jacket allowing me to take some photos before moving on. I identified them as Abia nitens - orange-horned scabious sawfly. Confirmed by the lovely knowledgeable @scottshanks.bsky.social thank you. 🏴
