Hell yeah! That looks so pretty. The biggest comic I own is this: The Invisibles Omnibus. Over 1500 pages. It was a Christmas gift to myself a couple years ago.

The Invisibles omnibus, by Grant Morrison and a number of talented artists. It’s 1536 pages, it’s fucking huge.

I’ll make a thread describing how I came down to these choices. this was so difficult to narrow down: Storm (an absolute GODDESS) Emma Frost (a teacher, a big heart covered with walls of diamond) Hope (the epitome of the Summers family) Laura Kinney (the best Wolverine)

Hope Summers walking down the stairs into the Quiet Council chambers saying “…but it has to be me” as a rebuttal to Selene’s argument for herself to join the council

Storm saying “For there are greater things to be than a queen.”

Emma Frost telling Hank McCoy (aka Beast) “I’m theoretically going to strangle you, Beast.” Love that. I don’t like War Crimes McCoy and his self-pitying savior complex and overinflated ego. Emma is standing with her arms folded with a look that screams “done with your shit”

Wolverine (Laura Kinney). An altered clone of Logan, Laura has become such an interesting character, surpassing her father, Logan (though for the record Gambit was a better father figure to her than he ever was. She stands in a room in the X mansion. I’m pretty sure this is from the scene when Surge kisses Julian to make Prodigy jealous, because she thinks she knows what’s best for him and she will intentionally hurt him to drive him away because she thinks she should be able to tell him what to do with his life. Fuck, surge is awful which really sucks because I always dug her design. I think oversized gloves or gauntlets always look cool. Anyway, she is terrible. Laura is fantastic and I love her relationship with her sister gabby and her brother Akihiro. Honestly most of Wolverine’s family are more interesting than him. Schism and AvX kind of ruin Logan for me (though a lot of the stuff happening around those events is done well, those events themselves were terribly lacking and had wolverine actively act against mutantkind’s survival because of a question over the ethics of kids being soldiers in the face of active genocide (only 198 mutants left, passed the threshold for genocide that you can’t come back from (until Krakoa)), betraying the X-Men to the avengers, the government lapdogs? And treating it like HE’S the one in the fight? Fuck that.

Anyway, Laura is a woman with a backstory that by all accounts could explain anybody becoming a villain. Instead she fights to save people, especially those who are super traumatized (as basically every mutant is. Arguably almost every mutant suffers from PTSD.) she has such a deep heart and cares so much. She’s also super badass!

As a girl who watched ridiculous amounts of Scooby-Doo reruns growing up, this image of Scooby in a trench coat has always stuck in my mind. So I definitely see the vision when it comes to a Scooby fit featuring a trench coat.

Side note: had a typo at first, typed about the nostalgia gripping my hand instead of heart. I feel that symbolism also works:

The warm hands of nostalgia gripping my hands in a desperate plea to remain in the brief moments from my past that bring me a sense of joy, of peace. I spent those years feeling lost and confused, knowing that I was different in several ways and not understanding how. But I think people generally want to remember at least SOME positive things from their past, and we take what we can get. So I remember the rush of a successful night of scaring, of connecting with a an eclectic mix of people (one dude could do contortionist stuff, that was cool as hell), of getting food after still in our makeup and feeling exhausted when I got to bed that night. Brief, brilliant lights in an otherwise dark time.
