st. paul, mn fighting to make better worlds. interested in complexity, justice, knitting, books, and so much more. i have a lot of feelings, and curiosity. vulgar as fuck. job: Principal Technical PrdMgr site: winstonhearn.com
this morning i took a bike ride, because bike rides bring me outsized joy, and the icing on the cake was I rode 26 miles and aside from the first 2 miles, the entire route was on protected bike lanes. Love that St. Paul has invested so much in bike infrastructure.
we have a solution! we previously had some compression pole shelves that we can configure against a wall. seen here in a previous house.
All 56 boxes opened. We uh, we don't think we have enough shelf space. Whoops.
we are finally liberating our books from their cages (moving boxes). we have opened 28 boxes! we have 23 to go lmao
in my new home office i have set up my desk so when i am done with work, I pack up the work laptop/keyboard/mouse and then swing the large monitor to point at the wall. suddenly, my desk is devoid of work and useful for writing and thinking! it's glorious
decided it was a good night to go be slutty at the piano bar (Menards) (jk getting some speaker wire)
Here's the drawing i did last night. I recently bought a book of fine art nudes that a couple made together, they are absolutely incredible work. Used one of the photos as a model then doodled on top.
Genuinely though, this is the series of events and it is awful but also really fucking hilarious. Image 1: the email I sent at noon yesterday. Image 2: their email at 5p saying things are fine. Image 3: the mushroom at 6am this morning proving otherwise

loving the way this WIP ombré is turning out. yarn is Universal Yarn's Colorburst in Piquant!
packing starts! we move in less than a month. last year we had 56 books. tbd how many more we will need!
May Day Parade and the Tree of Life Ceremony broke my heart wide open today. Was a glorious day to celebrate spring; the abolishing of ICE, and all the weirdos in the area.
have returned to recent notebooks. this page from 2021 is apparently inspired from the @shannonmattern.bsky.social book noted, and kinda feels like it anticipates Mamdani!
omg AND just found my post divorce todo list and i'm so proud of myself, i did all of this except maybe the debt part
from 2015 or so. a constant theme in my life is my love of these Frightened Rabbit lyrics (they are now tattooed on my arm)
it feels like ancient history but before i learned to code (2010) i did video production, and loved to storyboard
