It's official: @stephentotilo.bsky.social is having too much fun. (from www.gamefile.news/p/ea-pay-ver...)
Happy 40th, Samus. “A terrible incident takes place in the year 2005.” Uh-oh. I met my wife that year. Hmmm…
Please let there be a way to use 3 undocked Switches in Tabletop Mode to recreate the arcade's 3-monitor presentation. (TX-1, 1983) www.nintendo.com/us/store/pro...
Happy 13th anniversary of the Japanese release of the best GTA game www.killscreen.com/review-why-l... (My review is so old, @stephentotilo.bsky.social was still at Kotaku)
Here’s @flantz.bsky.social saying you can’t just reduce Splatoon Raiders to a 81 on Metacritic
Man, the new Yoshi game is all sweetness and light, and then BAM you reach this level and it’s a slasher film
Sony's going all-digital, Microsoft is laying off thousands... and investors of Nintendo are like, "Your hit detection was a little off in the last Splatoon game. Why are you so insincere?" www.nintendo.co.jp/ir/pdf/2026/...

Was in Albuquerque last week, not knowing that starting on July 12th it’s hosting the annual 3D Con. So so sad to miss it. For my fellow enthusiasts: here’s Mamma. 3D-con.com
I hear a lot of fuss about physical games but I nabbed the last copy at my local Walmart so I don’t see the problem
After all the chatter about Xbox’s hard reset in the Asha Era, the question we have to ask is… Can Microsoft Turn Things Around? (©️2014)
As a dad to 2 kiddos, the nightly post-bedtime window is a sacred realm. You must use it wisely. Somehow, the last 2 nights I've watched the worst 30-minutes of produced TV from the 20th century (Ep 10, S2 of Ray Bradbury Theater, "Tyrannosaurus Rex") and played both Atari Karts + Fight for Life
His UFC book is pretty much a sequel to this from 2009, in which Thomsen examines MADWORLD & asks a lot of the questions we're still asking about games + criticism: "Is that the best we can do? Is that the most we can expect from the medium and those who criticize it?" www.ign.com/articles/200...
While I wait for my counteroffer to an eBay reseller to be accepted or denied, please enjoy this amazing poster for 3D-Con 2014
Hope your power's back on, @knickerbacker.bsky.social. knickerblogger.net/2026/06/2026...
Sometimes I miss being outside of the freelance game reviewing grind. But one benefit is the complete lack of pressure to be timely. This week I've played MADWORLD (Wii) & SPIRIT CAMERA: THE CURSED MEMOIR (3ds) and they're both weird and interesting and very much time capsules of their era.
Huh. 1. Was the entire cost of making the spot *actually* zero? 2. How does "licensed AI, legal AI" work exactly? Paying to train AI on a cache of data that's given w/ consent? From @stephentotilo.bsky.social's Game File / excerpted from Take-Two's earnings call www.gamefile.news/p/what-xbox-...
Though I disagree w/ nearly all of the words typed here, I love Feisty Ian and the world of criticism is richer because of Feisty Ian.
For me, Switch Sports is a single-player online game of 1-on-1 motion controlled sport. I've had so many intense Tennis games with other players who know what they're doing. But it's low stress, low commitment, without sacrificing the high skill ceiling. Bring on the Switch 2 follow-up.
In the latest financials, Nintendo said Switch Sports has now sold 18.32 million copies. When I see how people talk about it, though, I'm always surprised it's described as a party/kids game. See: www.reddit.com/r/NintendoSw...
How can you feverishly anticipate the new Yoshi game when you're busy writing a book of maps?
