I'm with you on most of what you're saying. The CGI was passable enough for me. The last act dropped the ball a bit. Would've been nicer if it dug into the DV theme more, yeah. As is, it's not bad, but nothing particularly spectacular. some spoilers:
Watched Evil Dead Burn. Yeah, it's great. Some issues with the plot and dialogue mixing aside, this shit's insane. Its frenetic pacing kicks ass. Its decently scary. Also... I didn't realize there were two post-credits scenes. But after looking up a summary of them: yeah fuck it man sure ig 8/10
Watched The Odyssey! Hmm yeah, this one meets expectations. The first two hours has its ups and downs, but thankfully the final hour makes up for it by being really strong. Matt Damon's performance is great, but a bit overhyped imo. It banks on that but isn't exceptional for it. 8.5/10?
Watched The Invite. Seth Rogen woke up and decided to lock in. Also since I thought Don't Worry Darling was kinda ass, it's nice to see Olivia Wilde (director) rebound like this. 8/10
Watched Minions & Monsters. See my screenshot for my spoilerless thoughts on it. I couldn't fit all my thoughts on it into a single post. 7.5/10
Watched TS5. You know, I think it's a little weird that Disney is talking about the downsides of kids on tech/iPads, but... go off, I guess? 7/10
Watched Disclosure Day. One of the movies of all time. Spielberg's directing helped saved it from being boring, at least. 5/10

Watched I Love Boosters! This was my first exposure to Boots Riley. It's a blast! I fuck with how bizarre his style is. There also seems to be a lot here for critics and needs to dissect, probably too much. Purely on the surface level though, there's a lot of fun to be had. Highly recommend!!

Watched Obsession. I think I've unironically wanted a proper western yandere flick and this hits out of the park! Inde Navarrette's performance was excellent and the movie thrives because of it. She's disturbing and creepy as all hell. Give more creative opportunities in Hollywood to youtubers!
No, it's the one where you have to go and smash a ton of pots in trial chambers for since it's a real low drop chance. The C418 discs are the ones where you've got to get a skeleton to kill a creeper to get.

Yeah, it is. Jesus, if the ending to the trial was fully voiced, I think it would've given me nightmares. VAs do a great job for amateur work and the translation is punched up in a bunch of places. Also, my favorite fictional murder case! Though enough yapping, I'm gonna play ZATO next! ☺️
Just watched it with my Mom for Mother's Day. I'm very mixed on it. I'd give it like a 6/10. I thought the first half and ending were pretty good, but mostly everything in-between sucked. At the very least, it has a good thematic heart and is funny.
