The next Retrotink 4K profiles update is going to be a big one. 🤟 Here is a sneak peak showing the new sega saturn profiles. I added CRT blend and medium sharp profile type. One profile covers all resolutions! I also shrinked the number of sharp profile types from 3 to 2.
I went through the entire SNES library and the number of games which use dithering to expand color palette and create the illusion of transparency is way higher than I expected. Here is one great example: Mickey no Tokyo Disneyland
The next Retrotink 4K Pro & CE profiles update is going to be a major one with new cool stuff added like profiles to blend dithering with SNES/SFC and Genesis/MD games. That also includes the Retrotink 4K CE🤠
With the new Retrotink 4K PRO feature we can "dial-in" horiz. blur to blend dithering without adding too much blur or rely on Composite. Ideally suited for finer dithering patterns to display transparency or blend color dithering. Enable scanlines and it looks even better! 🔥👀
OSSC Pro profiles update 2026-07-01 🔥 First update firmware to 0.82: github.com/marqs85/ossc... Profiles download: drive.google.com/file/d/1LKRv... With firmware 0.82 you have the option to assign profiles to remote keys👇Update & Profiles guide: docs.google.com/spreadsheets...
OSSC Pro profiles update soon. Going to add new profiles including S-Video and Composite CRT profiles.
My 50x favorite Playstation 1 songs - 2 hours video with timestamps added. www.youtube.com/watch?v=2xqO... Enjoy!🥹
The OSSC Pro retro gaming scaler is back in stock! 🔥🔥🔥 videogameperfection.com/products/oss...
(1/2) A new Morph 4K beta firmware dropped last week. The big feature here is Auto Sampling which works well with few hiccups. With the current analog profiles and firmware version it can be used with PS1 + PS1 games on PS2, SNES/SFC, MD/GEN. Phase has to adjusted manually...
Retrotink 5x Pro continues to shine. A new firmware 3.98 dropped adding edge adaptive deinterlacing called MA smoother, smooth(er) transitions between interlaced and progressive resolutions and other features. Checkout Bob's article and the change log: retrotink-llc.github.io/firmware/5x....
The NEW PS2 Launcher v1.0.0 looks sick! Works on PS2 hardware! Download: github.com/Irfanlesnar/... Things to keep in mind: - USB and HDD game loading - Cover art support - No SMB & mmce support yet - No GSM & other OPL features support - exFAT formatted HDD failed to work for me
Never expected to see an english translation for Kowloon's Gate (PS1) as the game has a lot of text. A first person adventure placed in the Kowloon walled city👀Very excited to finally play the game! youtube.com/watch?v=VO2erw
You might ask what's the updated Extra AV out expansion is? 👇
Here it is: OSSC Pro firmware 0.82 with many useful features and changes. I plan to check it out later this week and adapt some of these changes to the profiles pack I released couple months ago. Stay tuned. 👀
(2/3) On both photos in my first post the R5x was set to 2560x1440 output res. Other new R5k output resolutions, like 3840x960 might be supported by some TV's, like LG C1. My LG C9 doesn't. :/ Worth a try as higher horizontal resolution results in finer looking crt mask effects
My short impressions with the new Retrotink 5X PRO ver. 4.0 CRT firmware. If you prefer CRT (sim) effects over sharp pixels then it's IMO worth the update. The difference is quite noticeable thanks to the new features. Keep in mind there are some limitations - check posts below
Update on the Morph 4K Crosspoint with analog-in AND out. The project is on pause for uncertain period of time due to discontinued parts If you don't want to wait any longer you can grab the OSSC Pro(Q2 2026) + Extra AV board (in stock) here: 👇(check second post)
I understand not everyone has the money for a high-end retro gaming scaler but before buying any of these $10 cheap PS2 adapters I would rather save some money ($80) and get the GBS-C. Here is Bob's latest review (from yesterday) of the GBS-C by Mcbazel👇 www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bzl5...
🔴Big update of my 4K Retro Gaming Scalers Review - Retested many features - Restructered Costs & Summary category - Added rating per feature/cat. - Updated info/rating Now it should be much easier to understand the differences between the scalers Link👉 docs.google.com/spreadsheets...
The OSSC Pro AV input card with RF input is now in stock: videogameperfection.com/products/leg... Check the info below befor ordering it. Also the next batch of OSSC Pro is going to be delayed probably until Q2 2026. Only 15 in stock right now. So better grab one if you don't want to wait.
Testing new OSSC Pro 0.82 firmware - not released to the public yet! I asked Marqs to implement Line 6x for PAL games in LM-Adaptive mode. The results speak for themselves🔥 I will update profiles once new firmware dropped.
Some additional info about wii model that might be compatible (not guaranteed) with the 480p bug fix when using analog output. The board revision is RVL-CPU-01 which can be seen through the battery slot.
Reminder about improving Wii image sharpness: If you plan to buy a high quality scaler or install a HDMI mod in order to achieve a sharper output using USBLoaderGX homebrew is IMO a must as you can see looking at the four images. Upscaling and 480p bug fix is just half the battle
Marqs dropped a firmware update for the original OSSC and I missed it.👀Before you update I recommend to read Bob's retroRGB article: retrorgb.com/ossc-firmwar... Firmware download: github.com/marqs85/ossc... Merry Christmas!🎅
I have updated my retro gaming scaler review including the latest bigger updates of all three scalers. No changes to the overall score except for "OSSC Pro Profiles & Features."
Same image without bsky scaling and lower compression: lh3.google.com/u/1/d/13MT4b... Note: These are direct captures just to show the difference in brightness. On an OLED TV it looks even more impressive. Firmware download: retrotink-llc.github.io/firmware/4k-...
A new Retrotink 4K Pro & CE exp. firmware released with the new spatial rest. mask feature which additionally minimizes brightness loss. Night and day difference when e-conserve scanlines and spatial mask combined🔥SDR output! (HDR disabled!)
Here is another example of the Retrotink 4k CE & Pro E-Conserve scanlines vs standard scanlines. Both images are direct captures with HDR disabled on the R4k. The difference in brightness is quite significant. 👀
