Fun evening at The Bow in Lyman, ME where dogs are required to be off leash. Ruby had the time of her life! She is a social butterfly.
I can't think of many better things to do than spending a few hours in the woods with six amazing dogs picking blueberries and generally enjoying the waterside surroundings. It's like a wilderness dog park with things for humans to do too. Six pints of wild blueberries!
We have an established process during blueberry picking season — the dogs pick low and I pick high!
The typical daily gear set up to take six dogs adventuring on the trails, which today also includes blueberry picking and some canoeing.
As I gear up for the next trip to Costa Rica, I'm going back through photos from March. Found a few I hadn't processed, like this one of a white faced monkey taken deep in the Venado estuary. He looks so peaceful. It was memorable. I'll be paddling into the estuary again this trip, crocs willing.
I love that the hummingbirds are back in New Hampshire. A shot from last evening.
These two are my newest adoptions. All my dogs are from Costa Rica - these two are from neighboring villages in CR. They probably never met before, but they have formed a special bond here in New Hampshire since Sugar (left) arrived in March. I really won the lottery with my pack of Zaguates.
Not the most impressive photos, but dusk photos of Oyster Mushroom pins growing on the logs in my log crib I started a year ago. #mushrooms
Your life is a lot like mine, except we tend to do our hiking closer to home with six pack members.
Just another day in the woods with an awesome pack of Costa Rican Zaguates.
My dogs are such hams that they automatically assemble for photo ops, even knowing I don’t have treats.
Dogs often choose us instead of the other way around. Same with a dog who just joined the pack from Costa Rica. She velcroed to me on two recent trips to CR and here she is now in New Hampshire.
Say hello to New Hampshire’s newest resident — Sugar — all the way from Costa Rica where she will join five other other Zaguates at El Nido de Zaguate.
Epic light and shadows at the cabin yesterday after breaking lots of trail.
Musk is channeling what I have observed since about 2005 after reading "The Right Nation." Southern culture has at its core the Scots-Irish border tribe mentality, always at war (See DH Fischer's Albion's Seed: Four British Folkways in America).
Just another winter day on the trails in New Hampshire. Had to break trail all over again with the recent additions of snow.
That would be me, and I guess I’m the extreme version because I have five.
Thank you Bad Bunny. I really needed something strong to feed my soul in these dark times. Thank you for showing America that our richness in diversity and experience is what makes us America, together.
Hardly a day goes by when I don't think about how lucky I am to spend my days with these Costa Rican hooligans.
Trump tries to blame negative economic news on anyone exception himself, but graphs like this tell the story. $15 more for a sink grind. Look at the month when the price went up.
A mama Black Kite outside my hotel here in Mumbai — she was busy collecting materials for her nest.
The first two words in Words with Friends tonight that added up to 47 points, coincidentally. Reminds me of someone 🤔.
My senior rescue, Chino, who passed a few years ago. You'd never believe that he came from tropical Costa Rica. He absolutely loved the snow - only 10% shepher and 90% "village dog" (but his 10% shepherd dominated).
