Canadian companies are playing key roles in the effort to tap what Price said could be one of the world's largest oil basins. The drilling rig is courtesy of Stampede Drilling Inc., a Calgary-based outfit normally active across Alberta and Saskatchewan. Quebec City-based shipping firm Desgagnés is handling transport.
The prize could be enormous, to the tune of 13 billion barrels of gross oil, according to an independent estimate from energy consultancy firm Sproule ERCE. Price likens the potential to the Prudhoe Bay field in Alaska discovered some six decades ago and forming the state's economic backbone since.
Price said that samples taken from
Jameson Land show the oil is akin to the crude long produced further east, off the shores of the United Kingdom and Norway.

Over the past century, Ford has become one of the most iconic American brands, from its line of pickup trucks to the Mustang. The company’s first car, the Model T, broke ground and helped create the modern automotive industry. Yet what few people know today is that the company’s founder, Henry Ford, not only held deeply prejudiced personal views but also became one of Hitler’s key American friends in the years before the war. To its credit, the Ford Motor Company has made some efforts to come to terms with this troubling history, but there is still more work to be done. As we’ll see, Ford’s views were more than just a private matter—they translated into real-world action that had a major effect on Germany’s military preparedness before World War II. Certainly, Ford was far from the only American businessman who was enticed by Nazi Germany. His rival—General Motors—had a German division of its own and manufactured aircraft parts for the Luftwaffe.

Just a reminder, because I think we legitimately forget sometimes:
Nazis weren't just the guys who ushered people into the gas chambers. They weren't just the politicians signing the orders to invade other countries, or the generals ordering their troops to execute civilians.
Nazis were also the people who joined the party because it was the social thing to do. They were the people who looked the other way when their Jewish neighbors were hauled off.
They were the actors who put their careers above the lives of others in order to take roles in propaganda films. They were the civilians who asked "But what do we do about the Jewish problem?" and expected a legitimate answer.
THOSE PEOPLE WERE NAZIS TOO.
So when I say you're acting like a Nazi, I'm not saying you're the one throwing the switch on the gas chambers or pulling the trigger on a gun. I'm saying you are legitimizing and supporting a political ideology which harms other people, and history will prove you wrong.
