Finally made it to the Jaws exhibit at the Academy Museum. Very well-organized, with lots of original props and fun interactive displays. My favorite thing (not pictured) was the dolly rig set up so you could use your phone camera to replicate the famous dolly shot of Brody on the beach.

Thank you all for the amazing kitten name suggestions. I didn’t expect to get so many! Arthur says hello and bless you, his Bluesky subjects. (We’re calling him Arthur because he hitchhiked a ride to my workplace and that’s how I got him.)

Hindsight! It ran for one season in VH1, of all places. Think Peggy Sue Got Married for Gen-X. Cruelly cut short after one season and left off on a cliffhanger.

Floating home after seeing JCS at the Hollywood Bowl. What a sublime experience. Cynthia and Adam were the standouts, obv, but Phillipa Soo and Raul Esparza also slayed. A bit annoyed they didn’t have any programs, though. Not even the expensive glossy ones.

We had a lovely trip up the coast to Monterey this past week. So lovely that I forgot to post pics. We touched grass. We touched sand. We touched purple sea anemones in the tanks at the aquarium. It was good to get away. Anyway, here are some nice shots.

Argh! We missed that one. But we did make it to that other notable museum in Figueres.

Have you all heard about this dating sim called Date Everything? Where you can date personified household items and abstract concepts like existential dread? I swear I’m not making this up. The teens insisted we take them to a signing today to meet some of the voice actors.

We did a walk-through preview of the new LACMA building today. No art yet but they had signs showing where some of the pieces will go. Have to say, I’m not sure about the material (oppressive grey concrete) but the design is kind of cool.

We drove past Manzanar on our way to a wedding this weekend. The buildings and watchtower are still there. I’ve been that way before, but it hit different this time. My brother stopped to look around and found this newly posted sign, mandated by the federal government:

The text of the sign reads: Manzanar National Historic Site belongs to the American people, and the National Park Service wants your feedback. Attended a lovely destination wedding in the Eastern Sierras this weekend. Look at these gorgeous brides! One of them is my ex-sister-in-law, who will always be family to me. My brother was there with his new wife, celebrating with everyone else. Funny how things work out sometimes. ♥️🏳️‍🌈
