Made it 85% up the mountain and developed a coolant leak at the plastic coolant junction on the left side of the motor above the trans- got back down the mountain without overheating just fine. 1000 mile road trip far far from home and thank god the thing decided to break down only an hour away.
Spent all day seeing places in Colorado I haven’t yet. Telluride, Durango, and Ouray. Fun roads, fun cars, and spending time with friends.
The second Cars, Claws, & Caffeine at @sacredbeanscoffee.bsky.social was a huge success! 100° day and still an even BIGGER turnout than last month. Happy to help create this space and see others enjoy it. Next one is Sunday August 16th!
After 4 attempts at painting these I finally got it ok-enough to not need to start over again. Thank god. Gonna sand and polish some bits of the clear for a nicer finish once it cures and then reassemble the headlights. I have a much larger appreciation for paintwork now this shit blows.
All that and ended the day with an impromptu VW Rabbit diesel stretch limo ride back to the truck
Pikes Peak Hill Climb was mental this year, as per usual. Great company and a fantastic day, weather was beautiful. Couldn’t have asked for more.
I’m so tired of my spider plants making more spider plants If anyone in Colorado wants spider plant children please let me know otherwise they’re all dumpster babies
