Our hearts are with the communities affected by these devastating wildfires. SR 291 and SR 155 remain closed due to active wildfire response. Never drive around road closures—conditions can change in minutes. For the latest Eastern WA road closures, follow @east.wsdot.wa.gov. Stay safe.
WELCOME TO WASHINGTON, SOCCER FANS. Get acquainted with our state via this highly accurate and mostly-to-scale map.

BEEP BEEP THE HAWKS ARE BACK IN SEATTLE. And so are 750,000 of your closest friends, all coming to Seattle to celebrate our SUPER BOWL CHAMPS. So if you're heading to Seattle tomorrow, take whatever ferry, bus, train, or spinning teacup is closest to you. Please.
4. The way you drive in heavy rain/flood conditions should look a lot different than how you drive normally. Most importantly: Obey road closure signs and if you can't see the road, DON'T DRIVE THROUGH THE WATER.
As rain continues to fall, roads may continue to flood. Things to keep in mind these next few days🧵 1. Road conditions can change quickly, but your GPS apps may not have the most recent info. Check our travel map for the most accurate current conditions: wsdot.com/Travel/Real-...
Labu-BOO! Remember that the scariest thing on the road tonight should be a child dressed as a pop culture reference you’re too old to understand. Be extra cautious driving today, and keep an eye out for trick-or-treaters. Happy Halloween!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, North Cascades Highway! On this day in 1972, the final section of SR 20 North Cascades Highway opened, completing a project nearly 80 years in the making.
Hey, squad: Stay GOLDEN this Labor Day weekend by checking our travel charts, app & socials before you head out. See the best/worst times to hit the road so you don’t lose your soul to traffic: https://wsdot.wa.gov/travel/holiday-weekend-travel/labor-day-weekend-travel-times/us-2-travel-charts
Heads up! The @cascade.org Seattle to Portland ride is this weekend! 🚴 Please use EXTRA CAUTION near cyclists as you share the road! Drivers: -Check mirrors before turning. -Give extra space when passing. -Respect cyclists' space. -Slow down on narrow/windy roads.

It's JULY, which means two things: 1) it's officially summertime and 2) the new SR 99 tunnel toll rates are in effect. This is part of a planned rate adjustment schedule adopted in 2018. Revenue supports ongoing maintenance, operations & repayment of construction costs. @goodtogo.wsdot.wa.gov
Seems like just about everyone’s gotten this one. It’s not real. REAL @goodtogo.wsdot.wa.gov texts would only ever link to MyGoodToGo.com.
Here's the full graphic, we didn't post it to begin with because it's... a bit of a behemoth.
"Why do you schedule work during (insert major event here)? Why do you hate me?" We don't hate you. But we do we have 117 major projects scheduled this summer, which means you should expect road work on your way to that Major Event. Allow us to explain: wsdotblog.blogspot.com/2025/06/send...
We’re aware of reports that SR 123 Cayuse Pass is still showing as closed on Google Maps. Chinook Pass is OPEN. We’ve contacted Google and have asked them to correct the error.
May is Bike Month! We were wheelie happy to see 100+ people on bikes at our Bike Everywhere Day station in Seattle last week! We asked cyclists: Why do you love biking? Here's what they told us...
Hittin' the road for a Memorial Day weekend getaway tomorrow? Yeah, you and everyone else. Plan ahead with our forecasted travel times for I-5, I-90 and US 2: wsdot.wa.gov/travel/holid...
Our highway speed cameras have tracked 47 vehicles going more than 100 mph on I-5 and I-90 IN ONE MONTH. Since the program began in April, we’ve mailed safety messages to more than 6,000 drivers encouraging them to lower speeds/prevent crashes. @north.wsdot.wa.gov @east.wsdot.wa.gov
Hey e-bike rebate recipients, it's time to go get those bikes! Remember, these rebates are for your use only. Attempts to trade, share or sell rebates will result in their cancelation.
For reference, the SR 410 Chinook Pass snowbank height is equivalent to 3.33 avalanche guys.
Clear roads, blue skies, can’t lose. It’s officially SR 20 North Cascades Highway season.
Crews in this area report numerous speed-related incidents and hope the presence of the camera encourages everyone to slow down. The cameras will capture images of those speeding and issue infractions, but we hope it doesn’t come to that.
