-The Ramparts of Ice (anime) I liked this! Its hard not to compare it to Polar Opposites since its by the same author, but it stands well enough by itself. It has some awkward pacing in the middle of the season, but the latter half is nothing short of excellent. Miki should transition about it th-
-Marriagetoxin (anime) This was just the right combination of shounen battle scenes and silly gags. Kinosaki is very gender, and Gero is a lovable idiot. My only complaint was the lack of relevance the characters had after their respective arcs, though I havent read the manga so that might change.
-Witch Hat Atelier (anime) Theres not much that I can say about this that hasn't been said by someone else. Its a fantastic story with whimsy aplenty, and it looks downright gorgeous. Excited for season 2.
-Heart of the Woods I really liked this! I would die for Tara, she is so silly and adorable. Very nice story with multiple good story beats. Its interesting that all the choices in the story only occur through Morgan. Really makes it feel like shes defying the "doomed child" trope shes forced into.
-Kindred Spirits On The Roof This was a lot longer than i expected going into it. However, it was really good. Yuna/Hina and Youka/Aki are my two favorite pairings, but theyre all quite cute. My only gripe is the teacher/student pairing. I liked basically everything about them except for that.
-SeaBed The story told in this visual novel is quite something. Honestly I think theres a few symbolical things that went over my head as i played for the first time. Nonetheless, it was a great story. It made me tear up a few times. Highly recommend this.
-Re: Zero (Light novel vol. 3 & 4) Theres a lot of interesting small scenes and details in the novels that im surprised were cut from the anime. The stuff surrounding Al in particular seems like a very strange exclusion. The worldbuilding in this series continues to be one of the strong points imo.
-I Married my Female Friend This was a really cute series! Its not too long, but not too short either. The small timeskip made the ending feel a little rushed, but its a satisfying ending despite that detail. Definitely worth a read if you're looking for something a bit lighter in tone.
-Kase-san and Morning Glories Its called a classic for a reason. Its a bit humorous how many times Yamada says "but we're both girls" early on in the series. The budding relationship between Kase and Yamada is cute to see, and the series is good vibes all around. Looking forward to reading more.
-Final Fantasy 6 Pixel Remaster My second favorite final fantasy game, right next to FF5. In terms of overall quality its definitely the best of the 2d final fantasy era. My only gripe is that the number of party members and espers makes equipment and ability management a bit of a hassle sometimes.
-The Dangers In My Heart (anime) The anime adaptation is very good. They do a good job of enhancing the impact of certain scenes from the manga. Yamada and Ichikawa are so friggin cute, I was smiling through pretty much the whole series.
-MakeIne: Too Many Losing Heroines! (Light novel vol. 7) I like the new girl. Not getting my hopes up, but I hope shes capable of making Nukumizu less dense. This volume reminds me of the volumes 1 and 3 in the way its structured, which I mean as a compliment. Looking forward to vol 8 this summer.
-MakeIne: Too Many Losing Heroines! (Light novel vol. 6) This was a good volume. Yakishio gets another chance to shine in this volume, which makes up for the fact that I didn't really enjoy her arc in volume 2. That said, Nukumizu's obliviousness is starting to get a bit grating at this point.
-MakeIne: Too Many Losing Heroines! (Light novel vol. 5) Im not exactly thr biggest fan of the little sister schtick tbh, not my cup of tea. That said the lit club girls all get their time to shine in this volume so im not too upset. Nukumizu's date with Yanami at the beginning was quite charming.
-MakeIne: Too Many Losing Heroines! (Light novel, vol. 4) This was an interesting one. I wont go too into spoilers, but I wasnt expecting doomed yuri in this series. That aside, holy fuck Nukumizu is the most dense motherfucker in the universe. How does he not realize he has rizz.
-Re Zero (Light novel vol. 1&2) Would you believe me if I told you Ive had these sitting on my bookshelf for 10 years? I did read them back in 2016 but didn't really absorb them that well. All that said, not much I can add here that I didn't say in my Re Zero anime thread above. They're enjoyable.
-MakeIne: Too Many Losing Heroines! (Light novel, vol. 3) I really like this arc in the story. Komari is one of my favorite ccharacters, and we finally get to see some character growth from Nukumizu in this volume too. I'm treading into unanimated territory from here on which I am excited about.
-Re: Zero (anime) I got caught up on this so I guess I'll give my impressions of seasons 1-3. This will be a long one. I watched season 1 when it aired almost 10 years ago, and rewatching it reminded of just how damn good it is. Watching Subaru mature throughout the season is enjoyable and (1/?)
-MakeIne: Too Many Losing Heroines! (Light novel, vol. 2) I dont like this one as much as the first one, which makes sense since I had the same opinion watching the anime. Nukumizu is frustratingly dense in this arc to the point that its not as entertaining as before. Still enjoyable enough though.
-The Mimosa Confessions (vol. 5) I dont have enough words to describe my thoughts on this volume and the series as a whole so I'll just say this: this series is a must-read. If someone asks me for book recommendations, this series will be the first thing I tell them.
-MakeIne: Too Many Losing Heroines! (Light novel, vol.1) Truth be told, this series isn't truly spectacular in any particular way. That said, Im a super easy person to please, so I personally really enjoy this series. Nukumizu is kind of a dense idiot, but thats part of his appeal as a protagonist.
