#Watercolor #painting from last night. I'm over the moon on this one. There's a few whoopsies but it was so much fun! I just love old architecture. Huge thank you to @thomaswschaller.bsky.social for your efforts and time in making videos that allow ppl to realize their potential. I'm very grateful 🙏

Mashup of #watercolor #art and #musictheory. I'm still working out different layouts and ideas but I'm really liking how this turned out. Still needs some work tho. The scale is for a 6 string guitar and is in E Dorian Mode. >>>>

This picture illustrates the combined scales of E Dorian Mode from the first fret to the twenty second fret in two segments. Below the scale segments is an illustration of the intervals for the scales that describes the scales notes second, flatted third, fourth, etc. Over the top of this illustrations is a watercolor depiction of a blue and purplish colored note with paint streaks that make the now appear to be moving or in motion.

Another postcard #watercolor. It was inspired by a post from someone on BlueSky. I really liked the values and content and wish I would have bookmarked it. Anyway, if anyone recognizes it, thank you for the inspiration! I really enjoyed this one but wish I had painted it on better paper. >>>>>

The painting is a scenic setting of body of water and shoreline with a distant mountain range in the background, evergreen trees that range from the horizon up the the shoreline. The shoreline has some rocky outcroppings with a small pool of water with smaller rocks in it. The sky is mixed with bright, full sun highlighting clouds moving in. Finally, in the near foreground is a large evergreen tree branch that enters the painting from the right. I'm sorry for those who have to read this as I'm terrible at describing things!

This #watercolor #painting is a study in tonal values, light and shade. What's interesting is that color itself isn't necessarily what defines an object. I found it "unnatural" using blues and violets to paint the elephant and my mind wanted to just stop knowing that they aren't that color at all.

I haven't been #painting too much lately due to a lack of time but also painting without any instruction has been revealing how little I know about #watercolor so I've been studying up. I painted a colorboard and swatch and I wish I had done this from the start. It's been fascinating to see>>>>

I've been learning more about the process that artists take to prep for a #painting. There's a lot more that goes into a painting than I had imagined when I started this journey. So this next project is about practicing the process where I'm identifying light and shade. #Artsky #watercolor

I received a pack of free #watercolor post cards when I bought some #paint last week. I thought I would use them to practice on. I kinda wished I had painted this on a larger piece as I really liked how it turned out. It was inspired by a real photo I took last fall. #artsky #moon #fall

Iris WIP. It turns out these irises are called Wild Flag iris and not Siberian iris as I had mentioned earlier. I was corrected by my mom. 🤭 Anyway I've learned a lot about mixing colors. Green grass color and certain shades of purple are really hard to mix. #watercolor #artsky #painting >>>>

I picked these up today from #TraderJoe's to place my wet #watercolor paint brushes on and a place to remove excess water or paint. But now that I'm looking at these I don't think I'll need paper towels for kitchen cleanups either. Dishwasher safe or toss them in with the laundry.

New goodies from the art store. I'm looking forward to using the porcelain palette as the plastic ones takes two hands, one to hold it in place and one to mix the paint. Still trying to figure out how to make fine, detailed lines. And finally, got some sap green so I can properly paint grass color🤞

Went to a friend's house today and made Juneberry jelly. He uses crabapple juice because it naturally has pectin in it. The Juneberries and crabapples are both from his trees. Unbelievably delicious! #homemade #jelly

Right on! We have a lot in common. Except the trike, I already have a crack in my ass and don't need to break it anymore. 😂 I have a bonsai tree also so that's super cool. I'd like to learn more if you have any tips and I'm really interested to learn about your teas! Here's a pic of my boy bonsai

While I was out walking a trail I noticed these beautiful flowers at the edge of the lake. I just love the colors and the sexy shape. I have it sketched out & ready to paint. My second attempt at the lighthouse study. I took a chance and glazed in the orange from the waterline, adding water to lighten the color as it moves up. I really liked how it turned out, like a sunset or sunrise. Still had a few whoopsies that I need to get better at. #watercolor #artsky #painting

Going to call this one finished for now until I learn new skills and get better at the finer details of #watercolor. I'm afraid if I keep working it the paper is going to degrade. Overall I'm pretty happy with it. Looking forward to fall classes!

I believe this is phlox. There's large patches of it along a path around a lake I like to walk. I think I'm going to try painting the first picture as my next project. I may not have the skills yet but it should be a good test and I like the colors. #artsky #picsky #nature #wildflowers #watercolor

There's so much fluff in the air right now it looks like it's snowing. Dandelion seeds maybe? It's been like this a for a couple of weeks now. Still, I would take this over the lime green pollen clouds from the pine trees in NC. I still can see it in the crevices in my car a year later.

Making progress on the koi. I think I'm getting the hang of coaxing the rock shapes into existence tho I'm struggling a bit with the one in the upper right corner. Started another lighthouse since I gave my first one to my mom for Mother's Day. Really screwed up the upper right hand corner >>>>

Really? Ok, these are the next two studies. He had mentioned that they look simple but there's some techniques he wants to teach us in each study. The cloud has light highlights in it that can be difficult but I have no clue at this point. 😂 I'm just trying to be a sponge and absorb as much as I can
