I thought I lost my account forever 😭 because I was traveling and used the WiFi at the Denver airport. And for some reason, it thought I was in Texas, which just passed an age verification law. The 3rd party requirements are incredibly invasive so I declined. Luckily it seem to resets after a day.

Bluesky notice popping up that states:
Age Assurance
“Hey there! You are accessing Bluesky from a region that legally requires us to verify your age before allowing you to access the app.

Based on your network, we think you’re in Texas, United States. This estimate may inaccurate if you’re using a VPN.”

3rd party software used for age verification. Called Kids Web Services (KWS).
The three methods to verify are:
1) The last four numbers of your SSN
2) Credit Card security hold
3) ID scan using a government issued ID ie. Passport or DL.

I’m pretty sure last year’s Upfront was also on a Monday and there was no prior announcement for Fallout S2. The first teaser and event was exclusive to that event. Someone was nice enough to upload it online. But this was all the official account posted the following day on Tuesday.

At times, I can totally empathize with Numenor. Especially as I get older. How do I personally deal with it as opposed to doing human sacrifices? I just go through the normal Five Stages of Grief, ending with accepting that I’m just like Galadriel in the end 😂 #MemeTime #Tolkien
