I would read that book to my kids for years when they were toddlers. Still have a copy! I’m delighted that Ferdinand found his cork tree in Aotearoa!
We had one in my community that lasted several hours just two days ago. Thank Gaia we have battery backup with our solar panels that kept our heat pumps working in 105°F heat. If you can make such investments, please don’t wait, folks! King Algae is leading us into a climate dystopia.
All so King Algae's fossil fool backers can “drill, baby, drill” on those pristine lands. Shame on them all! As for our state’s governor, people should always tack “sucker” onto his surname.
I am glad to see that EV sales held steady from Q1 to Q2 this year, after the precipitous drop last year because the current administration eliminated the tax incentive to placate the fossil fools. CLICK: bit.ly/usaevsales
High five! 🤚 I’ve installed hitches on all three of the EVs that I’ve owned. It can be a real challenge, but worth the effort. The one I installed on my Ioniq 5 is unique: it is a “stealth” model that you can’t see unless using it. CLICK: bit.ly/i5_hitch
I can believe it. My previous EV had 94.35% capacity after nearly 6 years and 78,737 miles. The EV I have now still has 100% capacity after 2.5 years and 27,060 miles.
Those who assert the climate crisis if a “hoax” hope that doing this will help them stay cooler in these escalating extreme heat waves.
On this date 23 years ago, Martin Eberhard and Mark Tarpenning founded Tesla to help promote electric vehicles. Of course, a greedy subsequent investor later did a hostile takeover and ousted them from the company. 😡 Still, I have fond memories of befriending Martin and Carolyn.
Our solar array sure helped us in June as the globe continued to cook —just like the scientists predicted over 4 decades ago. I’m so glad that years ago we rejected the fossil fools’ lie that the climate crisis was just a “hoax” and took steps to prepare! bit.ly/myarray
Here is my back-of-the-envelope estimate using my rooftop solar array as a starting point. From what I’ve since seen, it is fairly accurate.
I can attest that it’s definitely true. The rooms in our house with solar panels over them stay cooler than the ones without them. Thank goodness the panels also keep all the rooms tolerably comfortable.
Yes, damnit. This is a wildfire in NV just across the border from our home.
Exactly! Truth be told, after driving more than 2 hours straight, we need a bathroom break anyway. By the time we’ve done that, our EV is recharged, ready to keep going! And we’ve taken numerous long distance roadtrips, even cross country.
Summer solstice is always kinda sad for me. It means… my solar array will start producing fewer electrons every day for the next six months. Tsk.
I can report that powering my home and car on clean, green, free sunshine really does make me happy. Installing solar and getting rid of tailpipes does take effort, however —and a leap of faith that the investment will pay for itself. Believe me: it WILL!
…AND it will have NO driver. Star Trek Insurrection saw this coming.
You’d think Burgum would have checked with Bernie Sanders, who has solar on his home in Vermont, before spouting such ridiculous nonsense.
For decades scientists have raised the alarm. It’s been 14 years since I finally switched to one of the first EVs available, and I can’t understand why so many people still keep living in denial and clinging to their “drug” addiction. Get RID of your tailpipe, earthlings!
For gawd’s sake. This country already has its own arch. It’s in St. Louis. We do NOT need an imitation European one just to placate Egozilla.
Last week I took a needed break and used my EV to tow our tiny pop-up tent trailer to go camping in Bryce Canyon National Park. I was elated to again see its wondrous hoodoos and spend the nights listening to the wind in the pines —instead of pathetic newscasts. CLICK: bit.ly/bryce_camping
My state posted its Q1 2026 data for vehicle sales. I was glad to see that EVs bounced back slightly from Q4 2025 when the fossil fools’ government lackeys killed the incentives. It is embarrassing that we are so far behind other more enlightened, progressive nations. CLICK: bit.ly/utahevsales
The sunshine in May was generous on our solar array, powering both our home and electric car. 🌞 CLICK: bit.ly/myarray
YAY! You’ve made my day, Bernadette! Delighted to see this as I sipped my morning brew.
