Squirrel commentary on some drama happening this afternoon… most likely between Hawk and Crow
Tree Frog showed up last night and began calling from the edge of Green Frog’s pond (which is Definitely His because he Won It in a wrestling match) so, Green Frog gave him a good splash but Tree Frog cares nothing about Green Frog property rights and kept right on 🎶singing🎶
Pickerel Frog perched like a gargoyle on one of our crawl space vents: “Bugs shall not pass”
Frog’s perched on the edge- surveying his kingdom and letting out an occasional “Dunk”… in case there’s a lady frog out there in search of a guy with a pond🐸
After snoozing all day inside the camera pole- Tree Frog is headed up the tulip poplar in search of breakfast😄
Lacewing Larva: nothing to see here just a bit of lichen climbing a fence post😄

Frog’s extreme heat advice: Dunk yourself in water sit in the shade repeat
There’s a whole squadron of Dragonflies patrolling the yard… they like these bamboo perches along our path for resting- in between snatching up mosquitoes as you walk by😄
Frog’s lunch today: fresh Japanese beetle snatched off a stem of spatterdock🐸
The other guy hopped off and now Frog has an important announcement:
There’s only room for one male green frog in this pond. Most days they wrestle for the rights… but tonight one ducked beneath the hornwort- cause you can’t be kicked out if you can’t be found🐸
Just ran into one of my favorite yard friends: 🎉Elephant Mosquito🎉 Who feeds on nectar not humans and whose larvae eat other mosquito larvae
Frog let out an outraged “Dunk” towards this tree frog couple last night… rough translation: “get outta my pond”🐸
Yesterday he inspected my boots then sat on one while I filled the birdbath- but today… he had important turtle business beneath the passionflower vines😄
Titmouse wants to know: why does this thing attached to a bird feeder hanger not dispense seeds?😄
Meet Garage Skink caught in a rare photo outside… we usually only spot that distinctive tail as it disappears under the garage fridge😄
