idk, some gay
@yarnchicken
South Mpls weirdo they/them
Meanwhile, this guy very clearly has a good amount of rottweiler DNA and is mostly a complete angel.
This poor baby has had two surgeries this week - a spay and then a dental extraction. But she's all ready to go off to her new home on Friday, she's gonna have such a great life.
We had a little scheduling snafu - Gracie was supposed to be fixed and off to her new home before Roscoe arrived, but this is going beautifully so far. The cats love him already. Anybody in MSP looking for a big goofy ~1yo pup, I might have your guy. Up for adoption soon!
This is mainly about THOSE CURLS but also this fucking gorgeous plant. It's good to have gardener friends.
Camped out in bed with the dog, who is terrified of the robot and has been shaking and panting. She calmed down dramatically when Sprocket came into the room, lending credence to my jokes about him being her emotional support animal.
Last time I made this baby blanket, I knit the entire thing in front of the recipient without her figuring it out. I treasure the expression on her face when she opened the package - "YOU WERE KNITTING THIS FOR ME???!" Anyhow. My friends are still having babies & I still love knitting for them.
Picked up a knitting project that'd been in storage since 2015, real proud of past me for leaving good notes. Took a little break to admire another spectacular post-storm South Mpls sky.
I get the impression that Gracie hasn't really been someone's pet before and I love getting to spoil a dog rotten for the first time in her life. South Mpls folks: I'd love some help socializing her, hit me up for short-ish walks or backyard hangs. She'd love to meet you.
Foster dog Rita went to her new home today, but not before catching and killing a squirrel in the back yard. I really hope this isn't something that happens with every foster I have, but dogs gonna dog. The new girl also went after the squirrel 🤷🏼♂️
New foster dog is here and very sweet & chill. You'd never know these two just met.
Wasn't expecting to walk quite so far tonight but it was a gorgeous evening to be in the woods. And I found treasures!, some of which will be turned into fancy breakfast tomorrow.
Thought this extremely cool rock we found last summer had fallen out of my pocket on a hike but it's been in a dish by my bed the whole time. It goes back in my pocket tomorrow. Consider this an invitation to share a cool rock! 🪨 🤘
Driving home in that rain was so worth getting to watch the storm roll in. Also saw beaver, muskrat, turtles, deer, and watched a mama red-winged blackbird feed & sit with her babies.
Watched another episode of the Ken Burns Vietnam War series and finished the sweater vest - it was pretty good. She's been passed out on the couch all evening.
Yarn is from Ewetopia, one of the surprisingly large number of small mills in southern Wisconsin. They mention specific sheep breeds that aren't merino on the label (rambouillet and targhee) - it's lovely to work with & the washed swatch is beautifully squishy. Pattern: "See My Vest"
Ollie threw himself at Rita while she was helping me do yoga. Good tactic, bud - make your move while the dog is all blissed out on head scratches and praise
