Random footie post Emley,the village I grew up in, population approx 1,000. Emley AFC got to the 3rd round of the FA cup, away at West Ham who were riding high at the time The West Ham team included Rio Ferdinand, Frank Lampard and John Hartson, who scored the winner near the end. 2-1. In my 80th year, a year ago, I spent my first ever stay in hospital. A week in the 'Acute' ward at Calderdale RI, this time last year. Grandson visited, didn't pull any cannulas out 😬 and raised my spirits. On my return home the Yukka was in full flower. I am in far better fettle a year on☺️ 💙NHS
Ran into Andy Leader, in Holmfirth this afternoon. Many of you will remember him in the other place before he bailed out, with the handle @MadeInHolmfirth Sadly he's now disabled, using an electric mobility contraption, suffering from M.E. Andy is far younger than me, sad. Pic, Holme Valley sunset.
Goodbye old friend🥲 faithful workhorse, over 14 years you've driven the equal of 6 times around the equator, 150,000 miles. I've had far 'sexier' cars but none so versatile We've shared the glorys of The Lakes, Peaks, Dales, Snowdonia, and Highlands and grandson adventures. A newer chariot is here.
