Very nice. This version is the all-black "Darth Vader" model, the first to be marketed as the 2600 (it had been called the VCS since its launch in 1977), which means the commercial must be from around 1982. From the Centre for Computing History website www.computinghistory.org.uk/det/9401/Ata...

In 1982, another version of the four-switch console was released without woodgrain. They were nicknamed "Darth Vader" consoles due to their all-black appearance. These were also the first consoles to be officially called "Atari 2600".
