THE ZAPP TWITCHCON PRIMER™ There's a lot going on with me and my body and I hope that this'll explain a bit more without being Too Much. I'M EXCITED AND I HOPE TO SEE A TON OF YOU THERE (and if you manage to find me, I'll toss a super-special exclusive sticker at you)

Zapp at Twitchcon:

It's going to be my first time doing a LOT of things from going to a con to flying with my disabilities, so rightfully, I'm going to be a nervous mess.

That being said, I know people will want to see me and interact with me as much as possible, so I'm setting some basic rules to make my experience as comfortable as possible.

As always, general con etiquette is a must, but there are some things that require a bit more care with my given my body and its quirks.

These aren't guidelines, these are more boundaries that need to be set--and if they're not respected, at the very minimum I won't be interacting with you anymore.

Don't Touch Me:

I have skin writing, and that makes anything physically touching me break out that specific area in very itchy hives--imagine touch-induced poison ivy.

To keep my sanity and energy high, please don't touch me at all, even if I personally know you. I'll initiate contact when I feel like I can handle my body's reactions to it.

In particular, I will have a keychain with me that looks like a plucked, tired chicken. If you see that on my person, don't interact with me at all as I'm experiencing a flare-up of my skin writing and don't have any energy to spare.

Foods and Drinks:

I'm a super-taster, and with that comes various difficulties around food and drinks, including being able to taste the salt in the bayside air and the minor variances in restaurant cleaning/cooking.

I know people will want to get food and hang out to eat, but you likely won't be seeing me eat much outside of my hotel room, so don't take it personally.

Likewise, don't be gifting me food that isn't sealed in its original packaging--while that's standard for most creators, I'm making a point to mention it here.

Chicken Has Anxiety:

Surprise! I have anxiety disorders, and that means when those are more active, I'll be less like the chicken you've seen on streams and in chat.

While going through a panic attack, I'll be less responsive and more reserved--so be patient with me when you see me.

A lot of things are going to be contributing to my anxiety with this trip. I wish it wasn't, but also I can't exactly change that so I have to roll with the punches and push through--it'll be tiring but I'm excited for it all!
