The marine layer rolling over the Marin Headlands and Golden Gate Bridge was GORGEOUS tonight, such a fun and dynamic look at the atmosphere. The fog is going to return in full force later tonight, but it should hold off long enough for most of us to see a nice sunset! Get outside this evening!

Tropical Storm Bertha Update: the system isn't going to strengthen or weaken much over the next 12 hours or so as it skirts along the Gulf Coast, continuing to bring tropical storm force wind gusts, storm surge 1-3 feet, and isolated flash flooding (especially for metro areas).

The Little Fire in Sunol is not so little...and if you live northeast of this fire, you're going to see and smell smoke tonight. Especially for Livermore, make sure to mask up for any evening activities or stay inside if you can. Luckily winds will not be a huge issue tonight.

Tropical AND monsoonal moisture is heading towards California over the next 24 hours!! Lots of clouds/humidity overhead...along with the slight chance of a dry lightning strike, mainly tomorrow as the heat takes hold. More comfortable, and breezier, weather returns midweek.

Tropical Storm Bertha has officially formed in the Gulf, just south of the Panhandle of Florida. It will bring widespread strong winds, heavy rain potentially leading to flash flooding, and potentially life threatening storm surge along the coast of Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana Tues-Thur.

So cool to see all these clouds in the sky across California thanks to Tropical Storm Elida still well off the coast!!

Do you know what the difference is between a hurricane and a typhoon? They are structurally the exact same, the only difference is the location. A hurricane forms in the east Pacific, a typhoon in the west...but if a hurricane crosses over the IDL, it's a typhoon of the same name!

With the remnants of Elida heading towards California, do you know WHY the West Coast doesn’t see major hurricanes like the East Coast? Elida is currently breaking apart as it moves farther north, bringing us more clouds and humidity…nothing even close to an Atlantic hurricane’s impacts to the US.

Feeling HOT HOT HOT in California this week...in fact, parts of the Bay Area were hotter than Las Vegas today🥵 Tomorrow will be *slightly* cooler, before finally getting back to seasonable by Thursday....and by Friday, it's going to be cooler than normal and stay that way through the weekend!

After a gorgeous sunrise ABOVE the fog early this morning there will be plenty of sunshine this afternoon. BUT if you plan on heading to the beach, beware of continued rough seas, high rip currents, and increased sneaker wave potential. There's some BLUE-tiful colors in the water though!

Over 100 million people are under the threat for severe weather across the central US...an impressive line of severe storms will set up Thursday afternoon, extending from Wisconsin to Texas. Extreme heat is fuel for these severe storms, with 'feels like' highs in the 100s.

We rescued Ella in December from the SF SPCA and thought she was going to be a mutt with at least 4-5 different breeds…but I was VERY surprised to find out she is 51% one breed and 49% another…any guesses?! Nobody has been able to guess so far - it’s a strange combination!

WHY is it going to be 5-10° cooler across the Bay Area today? Just look at satellite imagery and you'll understand! A cold front is moving across California, bringing a relative cool down this weekend. It will get even cooler by early next week (maybe a few raindrops)...before a BIG heat up.
