If you like FEAR, you should cop Abyss Veil. I think it's the best game I've ever played, that's on gang.
new update for chapter 1: decay soon - y axis support - some audio fix - saveroom added inbetween the more lengthy parts - small rewrites, more will come as part 2 takes shape - sensitivity divided by half when aiming - entering a new location/level will tell you where you're at
man i need a metal garden 2, this is the best megastructure game out there imo. it's like the dev took my favorite fps franchises and put them into one. replaying it right now and the revamped animations and sounds are very awesome i really wanna make music for something like this one day

played a gacha spin-off game called Reverse Collapse: Code Name Bakery all day, it's amazing because there's no gacha, just an addicting gameplay loop that's hard as shit, and a very engaging story.. didn't expect to be this locked in but damn what a GEM

Abyss Veil 1.7 update tonight - new gun (LEOPARD) - lil tweaks in some levels - some bugs ironed out, some are just features trust - extra worldbuilding posters added in the early game
very overpowered but also satisfying to shoottt. still thinking of replacing the knife with a handgun.. but we'll cee
same i really wanna have more unconventional/weird weapons in AV. I guess the 16x scope mac 10 from escape from new york was one, there's also a kar98k for the weird gnostic/christian family, but i kinda wanna have less movie references and more weirdo guns like the prototype p90 early game so tyy

re-reading higurashi with og sprites, no va and og bgs was a vibe.. i don't think the experience changed all that much since it's very much a NOVEL, but the backgrounds man.. the weirdly edited photos are just timeless, its got this found footage vibe which i think works way more w the atmosphere

new p controller almost done, i'll start working on some actual set-pieces now that the story's mostly written (always leaving some stuff to improvise upon as i go, i cant just write everything down outside of worldbuilding stuff lol, gotta let these folks live and choose the direction themselves)
wanted to make a full final level in that bottom pit city but i didn't have much more free time left, so i instead made that final trippy resi-like section. i do wanna bring that concept of a city back in part 2 though, i think itd be fun to explore. game was supposed to end here originally
