Look at the elegance of the Fox Point fox street signs vs the inelegance of the Bayside logo. Fine people I am sure but yikes that font treatment.

One of my favorite random things in the Milwaukee area: a huge pedestrian bridge in Fox Point to connect two neighborhoods on either side of a ravine.

30ish of 34ish miles done. Still occasional peaks of the lake. I am now in Fox Point, the penultimate suburb of my day.

Ok five miles to go so close. I have been enjoying the houses of Whitefish Bay but I think I am Chicagoan enough to fundamentally believe the lakefront should be park and never private homes.

Hello to Lake Michigan for the first time in quite a while (and potentially the last time today?).

I have reached UWM which I have discovered is on a big hill. Uphill for miles. Now entering Shorewood. Goodbye City of Milwaukee!

Sadly too many miles to go to start this. Soon!

I’m realizing I have never walked the full length of Prospect through this area.

Juneau Park bathroom I am sure is fine but the beer garden was only PRETEND OPEN for a private event. 5/10

Sadly I can’t get a good recording with just my iPhone, but I promise promise promise if you do this and put your ear to the cable it is the coolest sound in all of Milwaukee. (I removed the audio in this because all you can hear is an idling truck.)

Highly recommend The Pfister, though some say it is haunted.

19 miles and counting. Currently annoyed the sun exists.

Bay View is simply the best neighborhood.

South Shore Terrace bathrooms: open, clean enough. 6/10. Debated deducting a point because the beer garden is closed Mondays but ah well.

15 miles in and entering (and seeing) the actual City of Milwaukee.

Stopped for coffee at the excellent La Finca in St. Francis. I think 18 miles to go? 8.5 hours until sunset.

Now at half marathon length and entering St. Francis. Stunning lake views.

Loving this fog (in part because it feels nice and cold).

Warnimont Park bathrooms / golf clubhouse. Drinks, snacks, clean bathrooms, water bottle filling station. 9/10.

And I am confident this isn’t true, but. I pretend this is where the Westing Game was set.

About ten miles and now entering Cudahy, which I think I know how to pronounce but am never sure. Cud-a-hee?

Started at the very bottom of this trail map and will finish just over the top edge. About a third of my day will be on the Oak Leaf Trail system.

Grant Park Beach restroom: closed 0/10. Nearby plovers: 5000/10.

Mental note to go sledding here next winter, by the South Milwaukee Yacht Club.
