Alendi is a physically imposing man, powerfully built and clad in leather armor and winter clothes, sword in one hand, Rashek's throat in the other. Rashek, more lithe, wears similar winter clothing, but instead of armor he bears a Terrisman's furs. He is clearly on the back foot of this altercation, but has managed to plunge a dagger in Alendi's chest, red blood staining blade and leather. Alendi himself doesn't seem to have noticed the fatal injury just yet, as his face, mere inches away from Rashek's own, is twisted by anger, not fear or pain.

The viewpoint is distant, capturing the entire city, which is positioned on what appears to be a sometimes glassy sometimes rocky obsidian island, or perhaps a peninsula, in the middle of the endless Shadesmar unsea. Two smaller islands connect to the main landmass with bridges, and all three are fully covered with modern-looking buildings. Near the center of the main island the buildings are mostly skyscrapers, bathed by the silvery light of the perpendicularity far below, and reinforced by reflective dragonsteel, shaped into curved blades and arcs, balancing the futuristic feel of the city with more traditional fantasy aesthetics. Beyond this central area, the buildings are not quite as tall and not quite as illuminated, but only the very outskirts of the city experience true darkness.
