Lee Kang-in would have been my go to. Split the difference between our 19-22 group & 28-32 group, quick but also a creative passer in the final third. We got decent progression, & shooting, need to connect the two. I've liked Charles de Ketelaere for a while, odd, undervalued player.

What a day, & not one I'm horribly sad about. Manzambi was Freiburg's progression guy & should replace some of Tielemans output with help from a good possession LB in Maatsen. I think Unai looks at 6ish 8 guy with others higher up as well as the signings needed on the right.

I'm therefore adding a central progressor & secondary creator in Johan Manzambi to my list. He was clearly the highlight of the Freiburg side against which we won the Europa League & has moved into an 8/10 role as the season progressed.

Receives the ball as an outlet, a key skill for an Emery winger, can create his own shots too. I don't believe he can be the lone creative force in the PL though, so while he replaces a lot of Rogers final third production, I wouldn't expect him to also do the progression work.

Emery has often used a strikewing as his secondary shot getter & it's a profile we're already looking at. In fact, Adeyemi is already linked & fits that profile perfectly. Good age & physical profile with matching technical skills, though decision making could be better.

The second half pass maps for Türkiye are wild.

I've filled homegrown spots & upped our attacking pace but importantly stabilised our floor picks like with Ramos, Kang-in & Sánchez. We maintain a high ceiling with these players there to support ceiling raisers like Rogers, as well as bets on less consistent high ceiling guys like Rowe & Charles.

Another floor raising option as my backup pick is Lois Openda, who Juve want to sell for Sørloth after a disappoiting season activating their buy obligation. At Leipzig he profiled closely to Watkins, while I don't think his ceiling is as high, he's a good consistent 15 goal forward going cheap.

Another sale PSG want to make; Ramos can receive well under pressure, dribble & run the wings & gets into the box for shots. I would deflate his 4 shots per 90 as a PSG player, often in Ligue 1, but 3+ shots a match would be a great PL forward. Ramos is defensively combative too, a plus for Unai.

Hard to replace a pillar but we have two ageing forwards. There's too high a risk they breakdown for me. Redmond, Madjo, & Wilson aren't ready yet so 23-26 is the range. An Emery striker is, depending on the situation, a winger & hold up player too. My pick is the already linked Gonçalo Ramos.

With a homegrown sale likely, the CM should fill a spot (Rowe would too). So I looked to the Championship at Shea Charles. Nice, young busy 6/8 at Southampton. Former technical Man City youth graduate but is a big 6'+ profile. Covers 1000 mins now, next season a more central figure.

The right 8s though, might not be available. Curtis Jones is the best all rounder 8 who isn't Declan Rice, he would have been available should Liverpool have kept Slot. Iraola makes it more likely he stays & is maybe joined by the similar profile of Alex Scott for too high a price for Villa.

We've also been lined to PSG's Mbaye, a lovely player across the 3 behind the striker. More than my picks he would seem to be a Rogers rotation but his price was too high this winter & it's been reported that he would be the top end of what we can afford. Too much for rotation at 18.

As a rotation role, but with Jimoh-Aloba or Hemmings coming up we should look to a 22-24 age profile & cheap wages. Jonathan Rowe is that, adds pace & dribbling ability enough to avoid the issues of Malen & Guessand, who liked to receive high. An option that maybe, replaces Ramsey at his best.

My backup pick is Brahim Diaz, who may be quite available depending on Madrid's incomings in an election year. Had a down year after impressing as Jude's rotation last season. At his age & profile, he would be a bit more plug in & play but his fluctuating form puts more question marks on him.

He would be an excellent support piece to keep Rogers. A primary final third progresser, a secondary creator & tertiary shooter, just the perfect profile & age. Keeps Rogers available for goals & assists, not collecting the ball from the defenders or midfield. Cash would need to overlap like he has.

The pick should be a contributer right now, not block Alysson, so Lee Kang-in is my pick. An available sale from PSG. He's nippy & technical rather than explosively quick but still adds to our pace. He's struggled with physicality so would need to adapt as Pau & Maatsen have under Unai's coaches.

My backup pick here is Tiago Santos, who is closer to Cash is stature and ideal attacking playstyle. Unlike Cash he contributes a lot to later buildup, dribbling into the box to create or shoot himself. With the RB often the spare overload option for Emery, he could get more out of that.

He's tall enough to play as an quasi-outside CB with coaching but is more naturally an up and down player like Cash. He has good buildup & final 3rd environment that could get better & similarly attacking ground duels well. Good all rounder with room to grow who wouldn't cost the world.

One priority is our RB situation, we looked lost without Cash overlapping at the beginning of the season & when he was injured. Someone who could also stay back if the RW holds width would be ideal. A contributer now with room to develop. 20-23. My pick on our budget would be Juanlu Sánchez.

What do do with Evann Guessand? His Palace option expired yesterday & he wouldn't be the first player Unai reintegrated. He was asked to play as a true winger but he is more a low touch forward. Emery opens up after 60 mins & there's a role for Guessand there as the secondary shot getter.

Kinda? The UEFA Deal says we can't exceed our squad cost. Though that includes Sancho, who is about £10m squad cost alone (plus players like Watkins, Bailey & Martinez on £8m+/year); we're at 72% cost/turnover this year. The reason to look at guys like Wilson 😬 to be able to make some bigger moves.

Not going to defend another not great performance but I do think that Cash coming back fixes a lot of knock on issues from his absence. That & giving Watkins a rest because he can't do all the things anymore. We have to recruit young blood this summer & cover our bigger points of failure.
