#birds Does anybody else get #woodpeckers at their feeders? There’s 3 Acorn Woodpeckers that have become regulars here. They come in, snag one or two bits then take off so quickly it’s hard to catch a photo, so sorry for the thru the window & dirty screen pic!

Oh yes, mine has thick undercoat that won’t quit. He’s getting old (& has mega colon so he’s tubby) & doesn’t groom himself as much he used to, but he loves being brushed with the slicker brush now.

This is a Great Egret in Northern California; same appetite!

A white Great Egret with black legs is perched on edge of a weathered wooden dock, with feathery tail end high, body angled forward, neck curved and claws gripping the dock. It had just snatched a small fish out of the water, which it is holding crossways near the tip of its long & slender yellow beak. Brown and green water vegetation can be seen at bottom of photo, along the dock.
