With 21 roses (15 varieties) I might be a bit obsessed. If I share 1 each week, we’ll be at it for a while. This one is Palais Royale. A whiter version of the famous Meilland rose, Pierre Ronsard, aka Eden Rose. Climber.
I have 21 roses. 15 varieties. 2 are Austin’s. Old Wollerton Hall (climber) & Desdemona. My neighbor has a very good Austin as well, Graham Thomas.
This is why you keep the pressure up. Maybe now we will get some real answers.
Just caught & released (at a lake several miles away) a barred grass snake who was defying species norms by hunting nightly in my little 800 liter garden pond, & consuming fish that should have been way too large. 5 sleepless nights of web cam surveillance, 3 misses, & got gland sprayed, but I won.
Also, this excellent example of mimicry, the hornet moth. They mimic not only the look and enormous size of the European hornet, but also their flight patterns. They’re a clearwing species of moth. This pair is mating.
Great day for wildlife. Here’s the western whip snake we found today. Pretty sure there were several as this is coupling season. Beauty.
I would take her but I’m overseas. Rough collies are amazing. Give her a kiss from all of us & hugs n’ cuddles, as we like to say.
With love let me explain, loose cat also equals decimation of local birds and rabbits. Feline leukemia. Road kill. Just to name a few. We take ours out on a leash, in the yard, with supervision.

So this happened just now. Went to leave through back utility room and found this beauty near death on the door curtain. I put her on some blooming bay laurel but she was barely moving so I made her some warm honey water. After feeding a bit more she regained all her strength and flew away. 🥰
So many of us can relate to what you’re going through. I lost my shadow pup Fritzi, March 2023. I lost his sister (true sibling) 5 days earlier. I still cry. I have doted on every dog I ever had and loved the hell out of all of them, but Fritzi couldn’t take his eyes off of me. I miss him so much.
I have a nice little amaryllis garden going. 1st to bloom is called “terracotta”. When I started, I planted one bulb in a pot that was too small, then damaged the roots moving it to better pot size. It’s not looking promising but, the other 3 look good. Will post more pics as they grow & bloom.
I’ve had it but have you had Ebulem scottish elderberry black ale? It pairs killa with potato/leek soup.
I wasn’t going to cook tonight since I’m wrecked from 3 days of heavy gardening. Then I changed my mind and made a quick fettuccine Alfredo with lemon zest & triple pepper. Wasn’t taxing & hit the spot.
Lmao. If you lived in FR, you’d waste less strawberries because they’re insanely delicious. I have to buy 3 pints because I eat 1 before I get home. Then I make strawberry short cake with french cakes called Tourteau Fromagé and strawberries macerated in liquor.
We use these. Goes on your keychain. Effective. Just remember to take it off before a flight or bye bye kitty. Lol
These states have more gun deaths per capita 100,000 than entire large countries have for their entire populous. Our incarceration rate is 5th globally with 541 per 100,000. When we start acting for the greater good of society as a whole, that’s when this gets fixed.
This is a Crepe Suzette I had a few days ago in Bordeaux. Positively swimming in orange sauce and Grand Marnier.
We had an +18 yr dachshund when we got a 3 mo old collie. She slept with her head on his bed and sweetly watched over the old guy. After he passed at nearly 19, she took to sleeping in his bed & still does. It’s too small for her but I think she takes comfort. We now have another companion for her.
