Whenever I see/hear mention of the 3rd Earl of Southampton, I always picture him as played by the beautiful actor Nicholas Clay (RIP) in the 1978 drama series 'Will Shakespeare'.

Started buying Seep Eco Sponge Scourers instead of the plastic sponges. Check Google for suppliers. I get mine from larger Tesco stores. Their website says "Made from sustainably sourced loofah & wood pulp. 100% plastic-free & compostable". They're robust & can be recycled in your food waste bin!
Purchased from an electrical goods shop that mainly sold fridges, vacuum cleaners and toasters! My first Beach Boys LP and played many times.
@chicagotafia.bsky.social It's Peter Tork's birthday and his connection to Wales: he used to visit his brother Chris who lived in Cardiff. Also, Davy Jones got married in Swansea in 1981 while appearing in panto there. Had these events happened during 1967-1970, I would have been beside myself! 😄

I first became aware of Calvin & Hobbes in 1988 - I was 29 and fell in love with the characters and the way they were drawn. Like all the best cartoons - they appeal to all ages!
The chorus of this song is great fun to sing and Perry had one of the sweetest smiles!🤗

Sting's birthday recently. Oct 1978 was the first time I saw The Police on "Old Grey Whistle Test" with Annie Nightingale (who became a big champion of them). I misheard her pronounce his name as "Stink" & thought "what a bloody awful name".😄 I loved them from the very first time I saw them perform.
I think I've been radicalised. Wales will be kicking me out! 😄 It all started with me thinking: "hmm, Scotland's football strip is so smart". Then realising Scotland have such fab bands. But the clincher was Scotland's best kept secret - the comedy 'Still Game'. Like 'Fools & Horses' - it has heart!
