On top of the health and mental health benefits of some tanning for people in places where it gets cold and dark in the winter, it was a visual indicator of wealth in certain times and places. Tanning was so culturally dominant that the dolls were also tan. Like Malibu Barbie! And her rival, Dusty.

The largest sigh imaginable. I would usually translate this closer to "Hey, you! Name!" What's your name is more like "お名前は?" This would be considered pretty rude in most contexts.

I'm tired and drained but I find joy in spending time with my pets. Since this whole thing started, Kousuke's been a big help getting me moving when I can't focus. The poor Princess is really picking up on my fear & anxiety, though. She's been holed up in my room most of the time. How are your pets?
