Access to the courts is a fundamental right. The Michigan Supreme Court has strengthened protections against arrest for people – including immigrants -- required to attend state court, helping ensure everyone can safely access the justice system. That’s a win for a stronger democracy.

A win for voters -- and for our democracy. A Michigan court has rejected a GOP-backed lawsuit that sought to strip voting rights from the spouses and children of U.S. service members stationed overseas. State law says these people can have their voices heard.
