BREAKING: A Calgary Police officer was shot and is in stable condition after a traffic stop near Spruce Cliff. The incident triggered a dangerous offender alert after the suspect fled, ending up here near Edworthy Park. Police and firefighters are pulling a body from the area.

NEW: The federal and provincial governments announce they're investing a total of $52M to modernize Calgary's Olympic Oval. The funding is to repalce the refrigerated concerete slab below the rinks and track, as well as to install a new ice plant and other upgrades.

NEW: Calgary mayor Jeromy Farkas says he's working on a final send-off for the Thunder Run at Village Square after calls from comedian Andrew Phung to host one final 'teen night' for the adults that grew up on the slide. The slide will be decommissioned as part of renovations next month.

Here’s the City of Calgary’s response to the water main break on southbound MacLeod Trail. Crews were confirms to be working in the area, but the cause of the break has not been determined.

The City of Calgary says one home is affected by this break. Water appears to still be leaking from the pipe more than 6 hours after it was first reported. Crews have stopped by the scene but nobody is here right now.

The Calgary Police Service is continuing to ask for the public’s help in finding Parker. They note he is neurodivergent and non-verbal and may become even more scared if confronted by strangers.   If you see him please contact police.

NEW: The Calgary Police Service is releasing a new image of missing 11 y/o Parker captured on CCTV footage on Thursday at 12:52 p.m. in the 5000-6000 block of Travis Crescent N.E. The search is ongoing with hundreds of police officers, search and rescue crews and volunteers.

The Calgary Fire Department rescued 3 people from the Bow River downstream from Edworthy Park earlier today. A news release says they were paddleboarding. The 2 youths and 1 adult were not hurt, and were wearing life jackets. CFD says the river is moving too fast to be on it

Here’s a look at the Kananaskis River just downstream from Barrier Lake. Highway 40 is closed at Sibbald Creek Trail. Parks officials say around 1,500 people are stuck in campgrounds in the area due to bridge washouts and mudslides.
