Almost every environment in Heartworm was based on places in my life/photos I took there. Was looking through old photos today (this is from ~2013), for example:
Heartworm came out one year ago today 🖤🪱📸 Thank you to everyone who played and supported us over this past year. I'm so glad we were able to share it with you, and that it resonated with so many people.
in light of nothing in particular - i'm working on a digital card game with its own universe that I can *guarantee* you I will never abandon in exchange for financial gain!
opened an old prototype to see if i could fix some things - dynamic split screen/merging here when players are in the same camera zone
Wanted to see if I could improve Heartworm's faux-prerender effect after not thinking about it for a long time
Working on controller support - full analog movement based on the best implementation I have used
Tried to make a basic but visually pleasing deckbuilder for theorycafting/sharing decklists outside the game
anyone want to do a big box physical release for Heartworm?
Heartworm is 33% off in the summer sale btw - if you haven't picked it up yet, now's a great time. Also we're close to 500 reviews, if you've played and haven't left one it would be a huge favor to me if you did!
the past ~6 months I've been working on StarBourne: a trad. roguelike with deep tactical deckbuilding combat set on a dark fantasy planet that is secretly a cosmic prison. Think Shandalar meets Caves of Qud. Still early. Playtests will happen soon in my discord. Would you play?
I accidentally did the wrong templating thing and the enemy got stuck in a loop lol
Added tweening to movement finally to make it less stiff. Also fixed my lighting model finally, both of these hadn't changed much since i started this last year (and was initially planning for a true trad roguelike)
I haven't opened after effects in a long time but I've been debugging enemy behavior for like 3 days straight so this was a good brain cleanse
Took a break a bit ago to step up the animation framework - haven't done much yet but you can see some subtle examples so far and I think it helps a lot already
probably the first time i've seen this stat line in my testing
if you could pin reviews this would be in the running
arguably the most important feature? (audio on)
