Summer apprenticeship show at the Ely Center im Fairhaven… local high school students interpret and respond to the concepts of “safety” through their art
What a wonderful way to spend a Monday… thank you PS90 Queens for the warm welcome on your B.E.A.R. Day! (BEAR = be excited about reading!)
The neighborhood garden game is what’s keep in my spirits up.
In a box I hadn’t opened in decades I found my surviving kids books. Drawn to it by a recent conversation about the books we loved as kids vs how we draw as adults. It is so telling. My favorite scene from my favorite book is that of a happy family. I dreamed of a loving, caring father.
Glad to catch up with #kidlit friends this past weekend. Good seeing you and thanks for the pic @andylozano.com!
New year and a cute new book by Elizabeth Suneby and illustrated by me!
I am feeling deep nostalgia this year. It's the first time we stay home in over a decade! My holiday book, Countdown for Nochebuena, marks the same kind of warmth and family-togetherness I hope to nurture this holiday season. #kidlit #latinawrites #kidlitauthor #kidlitillustrator

Not sure about the smaller text. I wish it were a fake pulp comic cover or sub heading. Could be just me. Saw lots of fun pulp covers in New Britain this past weekend
Thimble Islands off the coast of CT. Saw some stunning skies and neat birds including this heron.
2025 - throwing a sandwich gets you arrested - a dilettante dominates the headlines for getting his butt whooped by kids - when it gives the excuse for a dotard to take over DC /// Some pretty flowers from my walk today. Oh, and Cleo found what I think is a turkey feather. What a world.
Spotted a tiny bunny with a white fluffy tail on our walk too! #isThisaCottonTail
I finished a very scrappy cardigan and I’m adding pockets! It’s too hot to knit now though.
Flower report. World’s on fire. Touching grass. Wild flowers.
Reached 100F outside and it’s time like these I miss central AC. Melted outside but not before I spotted a cute sweat bee.
