We get a lot of baby lizards finding their way into the building. Most of them are hatchling western fence lizards. This time was different! Another co-worker coolly remarked, "Oh, it's an alligator lizard." I damn near knocked my chair over and stepped on Puca trying to get up to see it!
One of my coworkers earned a sharp look from our GM today cause he laughed as she spoke. But he had good reason! Across the room, he saw a baby lizard running behind her. Can you #FindThatLizard?!

A fellow hiker on his way to his car said he’d been there since 4 am and didn’t see anything. Herping really is just the luck of the draw. Within the first 30 mins of this hike, I saw a sagebrush lizard. These small lizards are diurnal, meaning they are active during the day.

Can you #FindThatLizard When I saw this lizard, I was a bit confused. At first, I thought it was a side-blotched lizard, but I didn't see a blotch. I looked up the species found in the area, in field guides, then finally posted to iNat for verification. Sometimes an ID takes multiple steps!

I first saw this chuckwalla foraging near the trail. Unfortunately a gaggle of other hikers came up behind me and it ran into this rock crevice AND my flash decided to stop working 😭 Anyways if you look close, you'll see that the top of its head is the last place it needs to shed. Such a cutie 🦎🤩
