Age of Warlords Official

The Official page dedicated to my own wargame. It'll follow its development, expansions, games and more. Wargame fanatic, loves seeing dice rolling.
The Peorian Commander was soon informed that the enemy had withdrawn, but when his officers begged to pursue, he ordered them to stand down. He wept openly at the sight before him. It was a victory, but the cost was massive. He knew then, that this war wouldn't be as quick as believed...
Age of Warlords Era of Firepower Turn 7. The Royals Commander blinked first. Seeing the numbers left to him, he realised that it was only a matter of time before they are overrun by the enemy. "Withdraw," he ordered quietly, then turned away bowing his head as he withdrew. #wargaming
Like to pause for a moment to add that during this battle, my favourite tape measure, one I had for over a decade, snapped its end clean off. It had to then be binned. "The fallen shall be forever remembered as the Emperor's Finest." 😔
Age of Warlords Era of Firepower Turn 6 The riverbank sees the most ferocious fighting of the entire battle. It's become a battle of attrition, one the Republicans have the upper hand in. But losses are heavy on both sides. The question now is who would blink first... #wargaming
"This is no mere ranger. He is Aragorn, son of Arathorn. You owe him your allegiance." Painted in less than an hour. If anyone knows how to make his sword straight, please let me know. I'd love to fix it, if I can 😅 #wargamimg #LOTRSBG #MESBG #painting #minipainting #miniatures
Age of Warlords Era of Firepower Battle Report: Turn 5 Things go from bad to worse for the Royals. Under the onslaught of the Republicans, several Companies are broken and destroyed. Two more fail their Courage Tests and flee to the edge of the battlefield.
Age of Warlords: Era of Firepower Turn 4. Just as it seemed the battle was completely in their favour, Turn 4 ended in a complete disaster for them. The counter attack on the Reps ended with one Company wiped out in heavy fighting and one fleeing for the far end. It left the whole flank open now.
Age of Warlords Era of Firepower: Turn 3 The Royals began moving on their left; two companies were sent to launch a counter attack to stop the Reps from crossing the river in force. In the center, the fighting grew fiercer as more Reps made it to the front. #wargaming #miniwargaming #miniatures
After acquiring the starter set for the speed paint markers, I got an evening to give Krondys another go. And it was a much more pleasant experience than the first attempt. More details in the alt text. Suffice to say, I will be using these and the AK real colour markers from now on. #painting
Age of Warlords Era of Firepower Battle Report: Turn 2 Shooting Phase The forward Republican Units were fired upon with brutal efficiency but the Royals. Rank upon rank firing effectively, with accurate cannon fire. The Republicans responded, making several hits, but a brutal firefight now ensured.
The Republican Movement Phase saw a better result than their first, but not by much. All brigades passed their advanced orders roll, but one was blocked by the river, and so was split up to go around it, while the other forced its way through the woods on their left.
Age of Warlords Era of Firepower Battle Report: Turn 2 The Royal Army seized the initiative and made the first moves, getting the skirmishers into cover, while moving up the brigade on their left. The rest of the army held positions. #solowargaming #wargaming #wargames #miniatures
Age of Warlords Era of Firepower Turn 1: Movement Phase The Kingdom of Ognon began to act, and performed way better on their orders, despite a lesser commander. Most of the army held back, fearing not to get into artillery range, while the skirmishers moved up to take cover. #wargaming
Age of Warlords Era of Firepower Turn 1: Movement Phase and Shooting Phase. The Republican General orders a rapid advance over the fields and treeline, intending to rush the enemy with overwhelming numbers. But the orders go badly, with only one brigade, the centre line, moving forward. #wargaming
The Republican Army immediately formed into battle lines; if they would not move, then they must be forced. With this, a new era has begun in the Age of Warlords... The era of firepower...
As they approached the river crossing, the morning haze gave way, and before then stood not a large woodland, but an army; the Royal Army of Ognon, assembled to oppose their crossing and blunt the vanguard.
It was a hot morning in June, and an Army of the Republic of Peoria marched along the roads, further into enemy territory. The sun was bearing down, and the humidity was starting to take its toll. But the army was in high spirits, having crossed the border at dawn, and no resistance so far...
My thoughts on the Army Painter Speed Paint Markers are as follows... They're fun! Thank you for coming. But seriously, I have a few thoughts after testing the introductory set, which includes three colours (green, red and yellow) on my first victim; Krondys.
My purchases for the day. Not too shabby, and I sold more than I bought, so a definite plus. Anyone wanna share their spoils from Broadside today? #wargaming #MiddleEarthSBG #OnBloodyGround
One of the Heroes of my Bonereapers Company. This would count, right?
Don't think I brought this up, but I played my first game of Saga in December. My Late Romans Vs Jomsvikings. The mission? Capture or rescue the priest in the center. It was a glorious small battle. The late Romans were able to grab hold of the priest, and slaughter most of the Jomsvikings.
I can no way justify buying this, other than the fact it was 'simply there' 🤣
Just a rough draft of a new game I'm working on. Been in my head for ages, wanted to get it on paper. Next is to get it on Word.
First painted minis of 2026! Napoleonic French for Black Powder. I'm pleased with them, but the colour of the blue uniforms could be a bit lighter, I think. Still, that's something to consider for the next sprue (three more to start). #wargaming #wargames #blackpowder #warlordgames
What was everyone's tabletop Christmas goodies last year? Just got mine from some vouchers my mum gave me (best present ever.)
AGE OF WARLORDS BATTLE REPORT Turn 4: Combat Phase If the previous turn hadn't sealed the Normans' fate in this battle, this turn certainly did. Combat, while not entirely one sided, pretty much ended any question of the Romans' Victory. It was just a question of how much. #wargaming #wargame
AGE OF WARLORDS BATTLE REPORT Turn 4: Shooting Phase The luck of the Normans went from bad to worse. The Normans performed terribly in shooting, with no hits, while the Romans' were brutally effective. Things were looking grim for the Normans now... #wargames #wargaming #historicalwargaming
AGE OF WARLORDS BATTLE REPORT Turn 4: Movement Phase. The Norman Warlord started with a rapid order, commanding that the largest unit of the army split up and attack the flanks. The Romans then repositioned themselves, with the swordsmen breaking off and the cavalry moving up. #wargaming
AGE OF WARLORDS BATTLE REPORT Turn 3: Morale Phase The Norman Warlord acted fast, sending out commands (or more precisely, threats) to his warriors on the cusp of routing. Because of this, nobody ran away; all remained to stand and fight. Thus, the battle would continue into the next Turn...
