A few months ago someone on here wrote: “Impossible how good reading is. You mean I just point my face at the paper for a bit and it does a whole update on my brain?” Recommend Solvej Balle’s mesmerizing series on the human condition.
10/10 late July day in the DMV. A beautiful day to walk the sunflower fields at McKee-Beshers Wildlife Management Area in Poolsville, MD. @capitalweather.com
Fresh air, low dew points. The simple things! Best running conditions of the summer along the Charles River. 🏃♀️#runningsky
Mayors are on the frontlines of tackling affordability, climate, and energy. Boston Mayor Michelle Wu at ULI: the goal is to make Boston the best city for families. Housing, lower energy burdens, and resilience to flooding and extreme heat. Buildings account for 70% of Boston’s emissions.
Boundary Waters wildfires causing extremely bad air quality along north and south shore of Lake Superior, heading east
Historic heatwave in the DC metro and our house is so comfortable thanks to @energysmartwv.bsky.social’s design focused on on variable-speed heat pumps - they pull more humidity out of the air and the result is excellent indoor comfort and air quality. Thanks Nate! #heatpumpnation #heatwave
The heatwave in the mid Atlantic is pretty intense. We’re moving my parents from their home in northern AZ to Phoenix metro next week and this is the new normal summer temps. A low of 87 degrees? How is this one of the fastest growing areas of the country.
Finding fresh tart cherries at the market this morning felt like a miracle after a mild winter and sudden late frost devastated harvests across the country (real-world impact of climate change right in my kitchen). Highly recommend Beth Dooley’s sweet and savory pickled tart cherries. 🍒 #SundaySky
Final (heat constrained) run of my trip. London Bridges. The ability to run anywhere is one of the greatest joys of the sport. #runningsky
London has invested heavily in cycling infrastructure - bike use in London has grown 43% since 2019. But car use has remained largely unchanged. Analysis indicates half of all riders remain uncomfortable without heavily protected, continuous routes. Got a taste of that while biking today!
Biked all around Paris today. Legitimately envious of the way street infrastructure privileges bikers over cars. #waroncars #parisbiking
The Canal Saint-Martin in Paris is full of swimmers today #heatwave
Jet lag shakeout run in Paris before the heat arrives. With gardens, cobblestones, and Chopin statutes in the Parc Monceau. Urban tree canopies in a warming world 🥰 #runningsky
Final Singapore run featured otters and roosters in the Gardens by the Bay #runningsky
You would think running in DC would prepare me for running in Singapore. You would think wrong. These dew points are so juicy! #runningsky
Enjoy the local accents of subway drivers in NYC, Boston, or DC? You won't find them on Singapore’s MRT. It’s fully driverless and automated. You trade local soul for hyper-efficient 'shadow trains' that deploy via AI #transit
Selling my parents house and moving mom into memory care. It goes by fast.
Visiting John Prine’s former recording studio, The Butcher Shoppe, on my first ULI Product Council tour feels auspicious
Takoma Park Children’s Business Fair never fails to lift the spirits. My ten year old channeled her obsession with demogorgon and cookies. #tkpkcbf2026
