It would take some story rework, but this little vignette piece had some very sweet bonding moments that would make for the elements of a good character piece.
The whole dead wife thing makes Carter unnecessarily broody and steps on the romance with Dejah Thoris later. Oh, and at least one of the framing devices could have been lost entirely.
I keep forgetting I wanted to post about this, but I was pleasantly surprised to see Mando and Grogu credit Brendan Wayne and Lateef Crowder in the opening sequence. Star Wars has always had composite performances going back to David Prowse and Bob Anderson in the Vader Armor.
Going to be at #CEO in August for @megaknockdown.com. Haven't done a show since before COVID and I've never done a gaming show, so I have no idea what to expect. Need to get prints made, need to do a few new pieces. I'm thinking of digging out these pieces, but I need some new stuff.
I just learned that DC are doing a Nightfall animated movie and I have two thoughts: 1) Sword of Azrael should be a DC animated movie. And 2) How are you going to do Nightfall without Sword of Azrael for the setup?
More of these, this time with one of the original characters from the cartoon, Zara. I have to add in some attack effects and augment the backgrounds with some detail. No idea why I'm sinking all the time and effort into this but it is fun. #mortalkombat #cartoon #fanart
I'm starting to wonder how many of these things I can do before it turns into an actual pitch document. #mortalkombat #fanart #cartoon
Raiden artwork added. And yes, I am upset that I never got to hear Clancy Brown shout "ALIBABAYEAHH!" #Mortalkombat #fanart #cartoon
This #MortalKombat idea has its hooks in me. Maybe because its just easy to crank these things out. Not super into this version of Shao Kahn but his size and the cape does give him definite M. Bison vibes.
Hey @noobde.bsky.social, I always wanted to see a version of Mortal Kombat with hand drawn sprites. Since I doubt I ever will, I mocked up my own, with designs based on the Defenders of the Realm cartoon (because I'm old) and gameplay, theoretically, based on UMK3.
More from the Mortal Kombat mines. Today its Kitana and Asgaarth, one of the original characters from the cartoon. Because who doesn't want to play as a giant bird man voiced by John Rhys Davies?
This is the image that comes to mind when I think of 90's comics.
Edit: Repost because my first one was kind of pricking. More from the Mortal Kombat project, this time Scorpion and Shang Tsung. Trying to copy the move sprites from UMK3 in these, but add hand drawn appeal.
Here's what I was going for with this: It has occurred to me that we've never seen a Mortal Kombat game with hand animated sprites, so since I do like the DotR designs, I think I'd like to see it get the Avatar Legends treatment. I'm thinking of a few of these I want to do.
