Just a recent immigrant from Facebook looking for a friendlier place to call home. Proud and grateful to be living in Lingít Aaní. Veteran of the Air Force and soon to be retiree of Higher Education.
Nice relaxing time on Windfall Lake staying at the cabin. Will definitely take rod/reel next time. YouTube video posted at: youtu.be/dSXarbdpmh4?... is canoeing up a small stream at the other end of the lake shot in 360 video. Would be fun to explore more next time!
Older siblings can be such jerks growing up... example. View the live camera at: uas.alaska.edu/juneau/rec/c... Baby Eaglets do play dead, but it is an instinctive survival tactic rather than a game.
Latest update, both Eaglets are eating. Due to the ZipLoc bag we've decided to call them Zip and Loc. Eagles will use anything for building a nest, to include ZipLoc bags. The eaglets are being fed chicken from a near by coup. View our YouTube playlist at: youtube.com/playlist?lis...
Received my 30 years of service pin for working at the University of Alaska Southeast today... the GOAT. A little over 2 months remaining till my retirement.
Latest work project was installing a camera on top of a cell tower overlooking the UAS campus, Auke Bay, and an active eagle nest below. This will be the 3rd year this couple have used this nest for hatching their young. Thanks to AmericanTower for making this happen. uas.alaska.edu/juneau/rec/c...
Nice aurora display last night. Made taking the trash to the curb at 5:45am worth it. 27 f. at time photo was taken.
A few winter night photos taken in Juneau, Alaska. The amount of snow we've had in the last week is cRaZy.
All night pork shoulder smoke. Glad I don't have to be out there watching over it at 0 degrees ambient temperature. Set it and forget it! share.fireboard.io/ECBCA4
Winter wonder land on campus. I set up a tree on the dock with our clear cold temps so students could get photos prior to heading out for winter break. Happy Holidays! View the camera live by going to: uas.alaska.edu/juneau/rec/c...
Our Theo is loving the recent snowfall. The only time of year he doesn't overheat.
Working on a few sticker designs for a project that is close to completion. Soon the University of Alaska Southeast will have added a new campus view camera to our line up with views of Auke Bay, Mendenhall Towers, Aurora and our seasonal Bald Eagle nest.
At work we have a camera focused on a cell phone tower with an eagle's nest. When the nest has been vacated we've gotten approval to install a camera just above the nest that can be used for Eagle viewing as well as out into Auke Bay. The live camera can be viewed at: uas.alaska.edu/juneau/rec/l...
Today's visitor to our backyard. Much nice to see a black bear romping through the wood than someone breaking into our home, which was the case several years back.
Everyone loves a timelapse. Here's one of our campus taken on a gorgeous day. View is from our freshman housing, John Pugh Hall. Current project is to add a camera with views of Auke Bay from a cell tower with an active eagle nest... stay tuned. Camera live feeds at: uas.alaska.edu/juneau/rec/l...
Finally, blue skies in Juneau, Alaska. Great day for many things, one being a hike.
Feels like summer is finally here. It's been quite the spring with cool temperatures, gray skies, and rain. Pictures are taken on the University of Alaska Southeast campus in Juneau, Alaska.
Great turnout @ today’s #NoKings event in Juneau, Alaska. I’m hearing close to 2,000, not bad for a community in Alaska.
