“Excuse me… I believe my snack is overdue.” 🦌⏰ P.S. This male White-tailed Deer fawn came into care with some superficial scratches on his nose. After a couple of weeks in rehabilitation, the wounds have healed well. He may carry a tiny reminder of his adventure, but he is healing beautifully! 🤎

How do you tell 10 skunk kits apart? A little colour coding courtesy of non-toxic dye can help! 🦨🎨 This helps the clinic team track the health of each kit, ensuring they get what they need to thrive in care. #alberta #wildliferescue #wildliferehab #charity
Our orphaned deer patients are now outside! 🦌☀️ For their first few weeks in care, deer fawns are kept indoors for close monitoring and care. Now, these little ones are ready to explore, stretch their legs, and frolic in our fawn corral! #alberta #wildliferescue #wildliferehab #charity
🚨 Please note: Due to maintenance on our electrical systems, our Wildlife Hotline may experience interruptions throughout the day today. If you are struggling to reach us, please send an email at info@aiwc.ca. #alberta #wildliferescue #wildliferehab #charity
We're stunned by the improvement we've seen in our great horned owlet patient! 🦉🩻 They arrived in care with two fractured humeri (upper arm bones), and you'd hardly know it, looking at the radiographs. #alberta #wildliferescue #wildliferehab #charity
With some cage rest (and plenty of mealworms), we're hopeful this little lady will heal and be returned to the wild ASAP! 💙 #alberta #wildliferescue #wildliferehab #charity
A tiny surgery for a tiny patient! 🩻🦇 This silver-haired bat arrived in May with a fractured femur, a potentially life-threatening injury. Thankfully, our amazing veterinarian, Dr. Cara, was able to pin the bone back into place. #alberta #wildliferescue #wildliferehab #charity
Our northern flying squirrel patient is growing up fast and is even eating solid foods! She still loves a good snuggle in her hammock, though. 😊💙 #alberta #wildliferescue #wildliferehab #charity
Before taking action to "rescue" them, make sure you call our hotline (403-946-2361). Our team can work with you to assess whether a given chick is in need of help! #alberta #wildliferescue #wildliferehab
Sometimes they end up in odd places (yards, balconies, driveways) and seem like they're injured, but are usually doing just fine. #alberta #wildliferescue #wildliferehab
🛑 REMINDER 🛑 Call us before taking action! It's fledgling season, and that means scruffy little magpies, jays, crows, and ravens are learning how to fly. #alberta #wildliferescue #wildliferehab
Our Friday feeling, brought to you by this very tired orphaned red squirrel kit who fell asleep during their feeding. 🥹💙 #alberta #wildliferescue #wildliferehab #charity
