Of course as soon as I think about Fred Phantom I'm obligated to create a new strip and wouldn't you know the latest strips were made to be mashed up together. I added a couple of strips I missed to the blog post too. This may be the first instance of Fred text transposed onto Phantom visuals.

An edited version of the Phantom comic from 26th July 2026 is shown. The title panel includes the image from the corresponding Fred Basset title panel and the middle strip of panels have been removed. "The Phantom created by Lee Falk X Fred Basset by Alex Graham"

The font face throughout the rest of the comic used indicates the dialog is from Fred Basset, while the artwork comes from The Phantom.

Panel 1: A blond, bearded man sits on the beach next to a disheveled skeleton. The skeleton is wearing a bright red jacket and blue crabs have taken an interest in crawling over him. The blond man asks, "Did you have a nice game?"

RIP to the Wallis Cinema HQ sign, which our car would consistently read as a "110" km/hr speed limit (in what should actually be a 60 km/hr zone) It definitely baffled us for a few weeks when we got our new car!

Okay last updates before I have to go work on stuff I actually ought to be working on.

The overlays with some minor visual changes. The health bars are angled and the stat modifier indicators have text labels. The knocked out health bar is now grey and shows no dots for stats.

In hindsight the contents of this tray are the obvious suspects considering this is in the textiles area, but it’s early in the morning and I didn’t know what to expect from the drawer labeled “feet”.

Brainstorming some Champions overlay layouts while I wait for the inevitable(?) spectator mode to render these concepts redundant.

Screenshot of Pokémon Champions taken from Serebii.net. Some text boxes have been overlaid with placeholders for information to be conveyed for a streamed version of the match, eg. player names, match win/loss record and slots for Pokémon icons to be displayed as they are revealed during the match.

Same screenshot except instead of laying the player information over the screenshot, the gameplay has been shrunk and most of the information is outside of the frame instead.
