It’s not tariffs, Canadians are angry because our friends to the south elected a fascist government which regards Canadian independence as a threat and has the stated intention of destroying and looting both Canada and Greenland WE ARE NOT VASSAL STATES!
What’s for dinner Dad? Well me son we’re havin’ a nice roast dinner with chicken, gravy, potatoes, and asparagus.
Time for another chicken and noodle stir fry. As long as I call it that I won’t notice all the veggies I hid in there. 😂
57 years ago I was watching Walter Cronkite tell us about a man going for a walk.
Yum! Another tasty meal consumed 🤤 Rotini pasta in a velvety fresh tomato and basil sauce.
Much of residential peninsular Halifax is currently without power (“damage to overhead lines”) but by the looks of the weather map I probably won’t be outside barbecuing.
In other news, Alec has enjoyed yet another meal. Chicken stir fry on rice noodles with dumplings and spring rolls.
Switched things around this week. Had my Turkey Tacos on Monday and my Meatless Meal Tuesday.
🧐 I don’t see what the problem is. I’d recognize my neighbourhood from any angle. Maybe it’s because l’m old enough to have used paper maps.
For our dinner tonight, tasty chicken and grapes in a butter and wine sauce over brown basmati with green beans. A glass of rosé to accompany.
I saw that this morning. Humorous, but I don’t think they actually priced hotdogs before making the joke.
It’s a meatless mushroom Monday meal! Mushrooms, onions, and sweet peppers in couscous.
Can Merlin identify this new bird in the backyard? First flight of son’s new drone.
Cool and rainy here on the Atlantic coast so I’ve made white chicken chili for dinner tonight.
Grilled bratwurst and sauerkraut on a bun with a side of fries for my dinner tonight. +🍺
Veggie curry tonight with mini chicken and large beef samosas. A can of nonalcoholic blueberry ale to go with it since apparently I was suffering from fridge blindness and totally forgot/did not see, the rosé that my son is now enjoying.
Hidden in the noise of the demolition across the street a new demolition started at 7am on a lot behind me. I wonder if they will keep the garage, it’s just about five years old.
While there have been some changes to the old neighbourhood since my family first moved from Robie Street to Coburg and Walnut over a hundred years ago, nothing compares to this development. As you can see one owner refused to sell.
This sticker is the only info I have. Student residences based on Revalie in Ottawa. I’m directly behind tower on right side of street. I guess the last year for my vegetable garden.
From my air fryer tonight, a Greek inspired lemon chicken, potatoes , chickpeas , peppers, tomatoes, & olives.
Time to take a break from gardening and eat. Since this is Sunday this must be Sunday Dinner. Turkey breast and asparagus from the air fryer and a mix of mashed potatoes and sweet potatoes.
Meanwhile between Walnut and Chestnut, demolition continues of an old apartment building and a handful of houses for the construction of the 12(?) story Revalie student residence, based on the one in Ottawa. On my side of the street, up to my driveway, the same owners plan a 9 story residence.
Sigh! Made an assumption when grocery shopping last week. Remember Alec, check the labels 😠
