Wrote this about Mantha at the end of last week for #DOTR. Pretty much the exact deal I was hoping for if the #NJDevils signed him. More on him in a little while.

There are always a few stragglers into mid/late July in free agency, but it feels like there are a lot more good UFAs available at this time of the year than usual

Jesper Boqvist, who we're all familiar with, is a decent fourth-liner. Wouldn't expect much more than that from him, but why not? Finishing does look like a bet to bounce back next season... And yes, he's back. Part of the Markstrom trade #NJDevils

Evan Rodrigues, reportedly coming to NJ in the Jacob Markstrom trade, is a very good bottom-six forward. Can play all positions and give you 30-40 points a season. Nice addition by Mehta, and frees up nearly $3 mil in cap space. #NJDevils

I suppose Sunny could re-sign Paul Cotter, who did not receive a QO today, but I'd be surprised if he did. Poor expected numbers, and had a goal differential of -42 in his 2 seasons with the #NJDevils. It may be a weak UFA class, but can probably find an upgrade for cheap in FA.

With the 44th overall pick, the #NJDevils select Nikita Shcherbakov. Nice pick there. A few rankings had him ranked in the later part of the 1st round.
